Run For The Money: Who Won The Money?

The show’s premise is to escape the hunters and survive for 200 minutes straight while completing tasks that ensure the player’s safety. The show started with 29 contestants, and a handful of them got caught with each episode. It is a game of endurance and quick thinking, trust, and betrayal.

At the end of episode 4, only 5 last participants were left, which got reduced to 3 very quickly and then to 1. The last standing man Choi Min Ho was expected to survive and win the total accumulated amount of ¥5.4 million, but his luck ran out as he was caught with just 35 seconds left. It was an impossible task for one man to win against 26 hunters. Since everyone was eventually caught, none of them received any amount of money.

But one player made a decision that made him the ultimate winner of the show. It was Shibatar who surrendered at the end of the second episode. His goal from the start was to survive, not participate in any of the tasks and surrender after some time. Shibatar seemed satisfied with the decision, ultimately making him the only one to take away any amount of money with him.

How Big Is The Amount?

In episode 2 of the show, it was seen how Shibatar was planning on surrendering very soon. He was waiting for the total amount of accumulated money to reach a good amount. As he was on his way to the phone booth to surrender, he had an idea to “sacrifice” a player as he went by. He picked the player nearest to him, Asei, and revealed his location to one of the hunters.

The hunter also went after Shibatar to catch him, but luckily he reached the phone booth in time and surrendered. He received a total amount of ¥1.6 million. He said that he won the money without doing anything and was very satisfied with it.

At the show’s end, when every player gathered around, Shibatar was given the money. It was funny as everyone who worked hard went away with nothing. Sometimes working smart wins over working hard, and this show is a prime example. The game was full of surprises but Shibatar winning the grand prize was the most unexpected.

All the episodes of Run For The Money is now streaming on Netflix.
