Denis Villeneuve’s cinematic beauty ‘Dune’ seems to have not only stunned and impressed the audience but also, the fan favourite fictional characters Rick and Morty. The recent release of the film, promoted Adult Swim to post a hilarious crossover between these two gems that you would not easily forget. Meanwhile, ‘Dune’ is also streaming on HBO Max and the response towards the film has been positive. The film is already greenlit for the much-awaited part 2.
One of the prime criticism from fans and Rick and Morty alike was the fact that the film desperately needed a part two to put two and two together and feel more complete. The film that is adapted from Frank Herbert’s legendary science fiction only covers the first part and half of the second part of the first volume in the ‘Dune’ series.
Check out the Rick and Morty x Dune Crossover below:
The crossover image released by Adult Swim shows how ‘Rick and Morty’ would look in the Dune Universe. However, the reimagination is more inclined towards how David Lynch did his adaptation from 1984 rather than the 2021 released Timothee Chalamet starer.
It is quite clear that a much bigger crossover will definitely have us all laughing, rolling on our stomachs. One can only imagine how the Evil Morty theme song would start playing when urged to ‘use the voice.’
Meanwhile, ‘Dune: Part Two’ is scheduled to be released in October 2023. However, filming has not officially started yet. On the other hand, ‘Rick and Morty’ are already greenlit for a couple of more seasons. The writing for the subsequent two seasons is already in progress. The release date has not been revealed yet for the series.
You can watch all episodes of ‘Rick and Morty’ on Netflix. You can also catch ‘Dune: Part One’ on HBO Max.
