The wait for Indian fans is over as the first official teaser is out from the house of Yash Raj Films which brings us the story of the warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan. This prehistoric drama is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi who is best known for his 2003 masterwork ‘Pinjar’. It was back on 9th September 2020 when the production house made the first announcement for the film revealing its official motion poster. Back then the initial announcement stated that the film will be out by Diwali 2020 but alas! the ongoing pandemic did not make that feasible.
Bringing us to delayed dates and a halt in production, However, the new teaser reveals for the film restores back the faith people have under the magnanimity of the YRF banner and how it delivers beautiful cinematic pieces and this one will be no different.
Prithviraj Teaser: Akshay Kumar As Prithviraj Chauhan
The film is based on Prithviraj Raso which is a Braj Bhasha epic poem about the life of Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay Kumar stars in the titular role. He is joined by Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar who makes her Hindi film debut in this film by playing the beloved wife Sanyogita. The other stellar cast members include Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij and Lalit Tiwari.
The teaser leaves no stones unturned when it comes to depicting the great historical battles that will take place during the course of the film. With a colour palette that sticks to the old scent of yellow soil and armour grey, the film boasts ambitious cinematography. We also get a first lookup close for the characters of Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chillar, Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood, fitting into their role with perfection.
The costumes designs too are beautiful and remind us of epic films like ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’. In fact, Manushi Chillar’s introductory shot is a replica of Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati from the 2018 epic romance saga.
