Prabhudeva: Commenting on Radhe and his relations with Salman Khan

After the OTT-crashing release of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai today, we have got the reactions on the same by its director Prabhudeva. Radhe stars Salman Khan, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, and Randeep Hooda in pivotal roles. Radhe was initially supposed to have a blockbuster theatrical release but had to be released in the pay-per-day digital format in India and in theatrical form of release in 40 other countries.

This sudden change in the decision of its release was taken keeping in mind the pandemic situation going on right now, due to which all the theatres are shut. Radhe is the first movie of Salman Khan to be released on an OTT Platform.

Comments of Prabhudeva the Director on releasing Radhe in the present challenging situation

Prabhudeva has said, “This is indeed a tough time for all of us, and we are all dealing with it in our own way”. Along with this that he genuinely hopes that people and especially movie lovers enjoy watching the movie in these difficult times. He has also said,” Through this phase, content on the digital medium has kept the audience hooked.”

We can’t really venture out or spend time with our friends, so I feel that films like Radhe can work as a stressbuster in such a scenario. We had hoped that it would release in theatres here as well because it was envisioned as a film meant for the big screen. Unfortunately, the situation is such that it will largely be a digital release.

Prabhudeva on his relation and previous works with Salman Khan

Well most of us are aware of the fact that Radhe is not the first movie featuring Salman Khan which has been directed by Prabhudeva. Prabhudeva had directed Salman Khan’s Wanted which was released in 2009 and which turned out to be a great success and had also lifted Salman Khan’s career to the top again. Commenting on this the brilliant dancer and director says, ”He was a big superstar when we started working on Wanted. I don’t believe that Wanted revived his career, in fact, Boney (Kapoor, producer) sir and Salman sir gave my career in Bollywood a boost.”

In addition to this, when asked about his relations with Salman Khan, Prabhudeva says, “I have a lot of love and respect for Salman sir. He has his own persona, and whatever our styles are, I have always loved him. By now, we are aware of each other’s working styles and patterns. This makes our job easy. Each moment that I spend with him on set is memorable.

Prabhudeva on his upcoming projects and his directorial career till now

Prabhudeva hopes that with the blooming industry he can go back to directing new projects in December. Furthermore, he also informs us and says he is looking forward to releases of various films in which he has acted. He says, ”I am acting in a few Tamil films, and four of my films are complete. We are waiting for normalcy to be restored so that they can be released”.

Speaking about his directorial career, he has worked with big celebs like Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, and Ajay Devgn. When asked about his thoughts on working with new emerging talents in Bollywood he says, ”Every year there are new actors and a fresh lot of talent that comes into the industry. The current crop of actors is hard-working and talented. I will be happy to work with any of the new actors as and when I get an opportunity”.

We wish Prabhudeva good luck on Radhe which faired well in terms of box office collection as per the first day collections but could not impress the movie critics who are giving average views on the movie.

Radhe is streaming on ZeePlex.
