Poisoned The Dirty Truth About Your Food: All About Netflix’s Upcoming Documentary

While the first thing that comes to the mind when we hear the word “humans” is emotion, it is not a need of the human body. It never was. Food is the primary requirement that we need to survive; food that is clean and safe. And Netflix’s upcoming documentary film Poisoned The Dirty Truth About Your Food, directed by Stephanie Soechtig, aims to show how far we really are from that.

Today, when food products can be exported from one country to another, claiming that the food you eat doesn’t pose a health risk, has no basis. All of us devour packaged food, and eat at joints and famous food company outlets, without even thinking about where it all comes from. Not being pessimistic here but the documentary will surely open a lot of eyes as to the quality of the food we have on a daily basis. And it’s not good news.

Since it is a documentary, we will get interviews from medical professionals like doctors, researchers and food scientists who will speak about how harmful food affects our bodies. We will also get to hear from people who have suffered from diseases (both short-term and long-term) due to ingesting food that is not “clean”.

Poisoned The Dirty Truth About Your Food Plot/Storyline

Based on America’s food supply (which is a part of the world food supply chain), the documentary will show how consumers are being tricked into buying food that is not in the least safe. This results in illnesses resulting from eating food that contains pathogens. Almost anything and everything from packaged strawberries to chicken is contaminated. And even if we are assured that they are safe, our primary assumption should be that they aren’t. But does that mean we stop eating? That’s impossible.

Food companies treat food as a commodity, not as something that people intake to live healthier and better lives. In a world where money does the talking, profit takes over morals. If we think about it, we have been subjected to a falsehood that is based on our very primary need since the birth of our species (basically any species that needs to eat). It is upto the people to take action against this heinous crime by making it known to the government which is apparently doing nothing about it despite having multiple federal agencies looking into food safety regulations in place.

History has proven that if the voice is loud enough, it will have to be heard. And the government will have to take a more proper step to look into the matter that is a threat to public health. We will get to know about this issue from all angles, and perhaps it will help us realize that costly food doesn’t mean clean food and make us aware of the importance of having proper food.

  1. Looking forward to watching it. Hopeful that a series could be developed. There must be so many stories that those on the front lines can tell.
