Pavitra Rishta 2 Pics: Meet New ‘Manav’ Shaheer Sheikh With Ankita Lokhande

Pavitra Rishta 2 Update: Indian viewers will never forget Manav and Archana, played by Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande. It is as Manav Deshmukh SSR made a permanent place in people’s hearts before he ventured into Bollywood. Now, the show will return with television’s heartthrob Shaheer Sheikh playing the new Manav. Lokhande will reprise the role of Ankita in the sequel.

After a lot of rumours going around for weeks, ALTBalaji has finally shared the pictures from Pavitra Rishta 2 sets. The actors have started filming the series in Mumbai. Along with Ankita Lokhande, the only old cast member joining the second season is veteran actor Usha Nadkarni. Nadkarni played SSR, aka Manav’s on-screen Aai (mother) in the first season.

Aditya Suranna has done the casting for the series directed by Nandita Mehra and produced by Ekta Kapoor. In the pictures, Pavitra Rishta 2 actor Shaheer Sheikh is dressed up as Manav. His attire is similar to that of Sushant Singh Rajput. Ankita is also wearing a simple Punjabi dress. The rest of the Pavitra Rishta 2 cast includes Abhidnya Bhave, Asheema Vardaan, Pooja Bhamrrah, and Randeep Rai.

ALT Balaji’s Pavitra Rishta 2 pictures caption reads, “Sometimes in most ordinary lives, we find the most extraordinary love stories!
Witness the extraordinary love story of Manav and Archana. Pavitra Rishta Filming begins; streaming soon on #ALTBalaji. ItsNeverTooLate”. The makers have not yet revealed the release date for the series.

In the comments section, fans have mixed reactions to Shaheer Sheikh as Manav. Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s Manav was the ideal husband and son so Sheikh has some big shoes to fill. Under the Instagram post, one fan wrote, “No one can replace Sushant or be like him no matter who comes to play his role.”

Earlier, in an interview with Zoom, the show’s casting director Aditya Suranna said, “It is not only for me but for the actors, directors and for everyone. There are two people (from the old cast), Ankita Lokhande is playing Archana’s part, Usha ma’am is playing her part. We have already seen them and have loved them. But for the rest of the actors, they have a challenge. Especially for Manav, for Shaheer Sheikh it is a big challenge to live up to that space. But at the same time, it is a challenge for directors, me and other actors as well.”

What do you have to say about Shaheer Sheikh and Ankita Lokhande’s pairing? Do you think Sheikh is the right choice to play the new Manav? Do you think Pavitra Rishta 2 will be as good as the first season? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
