Apple TV+’s Pachinko has won hearts it seems, be it the soundtrack or the cinematography or the complex characters the actors have brought to life on screen, the film is receiving praises left and right since its premiere. Created by Soo Hugh, the show is based on the Min Jin Lee novel of the same name and, is directed by Kogonada and Justin Chon. Under the banners of production companies- Media Res and Blue Marble Pictures, the series is being distributed by Apple Inc.
Pachinko stars a beautiful cast that includes Youn Yuh-jung and Kim Min-ha as Sunja, as the older and teenage version of our central character, respectively. Along with them, we have Lee Min-ho as Koh Hansu, Jin Ha as Solomon Baek, Anna Sawai as Naomi, Soji Arai as Baek Mozasu, Kaho Minami as Etsuko, Steve Sanghyun Noh as Baek Isak, Jung Eun-chae as Kyunghee, Mari Yamamoto as Hana, Ian H.W. Kim as Pastor Rhee, Jimmi Simpson as Tom Andrews, Yeji Yeon as Bokhee and Han Joon-woo as Baek Yoseb.
Essentially a historical drama with a touch of romance, tragedy and many other genres, the Pachinko centres around the struggles of a Korean immigrant family, over four generations as they try to survive and thrive in a Korea dominated by Japanese rule.
