Outer Range Season 2: Has Amazon Prime Video Cancelled or Renewed the Show?

Outer Range, a sci-fi neo-western supernatural thriller, ended on May 6 with episodes 7 and 8. Created by Brian Watkins, the show stars Josh Brolin as Royal Abbott, Imogen Poots as Autumn, Noah Reid as Billy Tillerson, Lili Taylor as Cecilia Abbott, Tom Pelphrey as Perry Abbott and Tamara Podemski as Deputy Sheriff Joy. From the first episode until the end, the show had some bizarre events that baffled the viewers.

A giant hole on the ground in Wyoming bothers Royal Abbott in the show. We learn that one can travel through time using the hole. However, the show never answers how the hole appeared and what connection it has with Royal that only he knows about initially. While there are many theories about Autumn, the makers never revealed who she truly was!

Outer Range Season 1 ended with many questions that one had from episode 1. The last episode ended on an epic yet weird note. But still didn’t answer anything. There are more cliffhangers. So it is obvious that people who have enjoyed the show to a certain extent will expect another season.

Will there be Outer Range Season 2?

Considering how the Outer Range finale appeared greatly incomplete, season 2 is much-needed. On his Instagram post, Josh Brolin teased another season. The Avengers: Endgame actor wrote, “The hole we weathered through thick and thin and in the hole we floated through din and more din. It was the hole that brought us together from all walks of life and it was the hole that hit the nerve of all that country strife. Now, the days of the hole have just begun, the Abbott’s spiral into existential fun.”

He added, “But the next cluster’s mess in a hole it might be, so watch Season 1 and help pull out Season 2 with me.”

So far, Amazon Prime has not cancelled the series. However, they haven’t confirmed its renewal either. But the immense response the first season received, one can hope that the studios will greenlight another season.
