Obi Wan Kenobi Release Date Revealed, Star Wars Fans Can Now Rejoice

The massive sci-fi franchise Star Wars brings you an original series based on the reliable Jedi master Obi Wan Kenobi. The first appearance of the Jedi master was seen in the original trilogy of the franchise and was played by English actor Alec Guinness. Created by George Lucas in the first trilogy he was not credited as the Jedi master but was later revealed. He was living as a 57-year old hermit under the name of Ben Kenobi on the planet Tatooine. When Luke Skywalker and C-3PO travel the desert in search of the lost R2-D2, The Jedi master rescues them from a band of Tusken Raiders.

Later in the prequel trilogy set 32 years before the original trilogy, a 25-year-old Obi Wan Kenobi is introduced as the Padawan of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn played by Liam Neeson. In this trilogy, Ewan McGregor played the later known Jedi master in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. He is known to train Anakin Skywalker later known as Darth Vader. In the Disney+ series, Ewan McGregor will be seen reprising his role of Obi Wan Kenobi.

Overall in the Star Wars movies and series, Obi Wan Kenobi was mentioned very few times and mostly had a come and go situation. But in the series we will probably be exploring much more about the Jedi Master who trained the now-famous Darth Vader. The story will be set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith and will see Obi Wan Kenobi taking care of a young Luke Skywalker on his home planet of Tatooine.
