NOPE Trailer: Jordon Peele-Daniel Kaluuya Are Back With a “Bad Miracle” For Summer

Jordan Peele’s Nope Trailer is out now! Along with Texas Chainsaw Massacre, this is the next big anticipated horror release of 2022. Written, directed, and produced by Peele himself under the banner of Monkeypaw Productions, the film has James Bond cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema roped in with music by Michael Abels, who has previously worked with Peele on the films Get Out and Us. The film also marks the return of Jordon Peele’s collaboration with the Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya, who was most recently seen in Judas and the Black Messiah. The other cast members include Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Barbie Ferreira, Brandon Perea and Michael Wincott.

The Nope trailer defines itself with Peele’s iconic dark, grey and blue palette with a supernatural element in focus without giving away too much of the storyline. This time it is a miracle gone bad during a summer on a horse ranch. The trailer distributed by Universal Pictures did also reveal the release date for this upcoming film.

We see Palmer’s character first on-screen telling the audience about the birth of the first motion picture- a man riding a horse and, how it was shot on her ancestor. We see Kaluuya’s character standing beside her, presumably her brother. The siblings are shown as the owners of a horse ranch, where over the course of one summer things change as horrifying scenes are presented to the audience. YouTube describes the film as Peele’s imagination of a summer movie with a new pop nightmare, an expansive horror epic.
