Your Name is a Japanese animated film which is adapted from a novel of the same name. It is directed by Makoto Shinkai and if I would have to define this film in just one word, it would be: mesmerizing.

From the beginning till the end you are hooked on its story which is a tad bit suspenseful due to its fantastical take on teenage romance. Your Name is perhaps one of the best animated movies which are not produced by Disney and Pixar.

Its artistic and visual brilliance along with time-travelling and swap comedy makes it an adventure film that should be watched by everyone.

There is nothing like a war film, but an animated war film is not that easy to come by. The Breadwinner is an animated movie directed by Nora Twomey. It is an intense, thought-provoking film about a girl and her family living in Taliban-occupied Afghanistan.

The story is touching as it is based on reality, if not a real story. The Breadwinner sets out to be a reminder about the violence and injustice faced by thousands of innocent people and kids living in a war-torn country. From the soothing background score to a gripping plot, The Breadwinner is a must-watch animated movie not made by Disney and Pixar.
