No One Saw Us Leave Review: When her children are kidnapped by their own father, grieving mother Valeria goes on a desperate search to bring her kids back. The series highlights the clash between two powerful Jewish families in the 1960s and how some people use children as a bargaining chip in adult fights.

No One Saw Us Leave Review
No One Saw Us Leave is a harrowing and emotional series that delves into parental alienation and parental kidnapping in the 1960s in between two influential Jewish families that destroyed both of their social standing in the world. The series is for anyone who loves drama thrillers and will move your heart in more ways than one.
It follows Valeria and Leo, two people whose marriage is on the rocks because they have no feelings for one another. When he learns that his wife has cheated on him, he, on his father’s instructions, makes the ultimate decision to hurt Valeria by kidnapping their children to punish his wife. It’s a terrifying watch that, despite being set in the 1960s, will feel very recent and important.

There isn’t a moment in the series that doesn’t move your heart for Valeria. Although what she did was terrible to her husband, the consequence cannot be never seeing her children. The series highlights the trauma that Valeria and her children went through for 2 years, during which Leo had to move from one place to another so as not to get caught. Apart from losing face in their community and making a public spectacle, it’s the children who suffered the most, and the realisation will leave you tearful.
I think the story did a great job of building the couple’s relationship and giving us a deep understanding of why their relationship broke down. In a time when public image was the most important thing, it’s natural for couples to find themselves drifting apart because their relationships didn’t start on the most solid ground in the first place.

For most of the runtime, I found myself terrified of what awaits Valeria and whether she will ever be able to find her children. It keeps you guessing for a greater chunk of the runtime and adds tension and thrill that you cannot ignore. Most of it is thanks to Tessa Ia’s fantastic performance as she sucks you into Valeria’s emotions and desperation perfectly. At 5 episodes, the series is tight and tense and holds on to your attention throughout without anything unnecessary.
Final Thoughts

No One Saw Us Leave will have you sitting on the edge of your seat as you see a mother desperately search for her children who have been kidnapped by their own father. It’s a striking and tense watch that will leave you reeling and strike all the right balances to entertain and engage viewers.
