Nice to Not Meet You Episode 9 Recap

Today’s episode begins with Byung-gi acting like Hyun-jun when he first meets Jeong-sin. This did not go as planned because Hyun-jun had no idea that Jeong-sin would be the mystery girl with whom he had been chatting all this time. He can’t believe that the woman who hates his guts is also claiming to be his fan. On the other hand, Byung-gi tells a fictional story to Jeong-sin to convince her that her crush will not be able to start a romantic relationship with her. This obviously hurts Jeong-sin, and the date ends with his rejection.

The next day, Jeong-sin goes to the office, but she’s still sad about whatever has happened. The rejection affected her very much, and it shows through her expression. That is when Jae-hyung comes to the rescue and gives Jeong-sin an umbrella when she needed it the most. Later, at an open interview, Jeong-sin asks all the right questions, while other interviewers only wanted to get dirt on the actor. She gets directly contacted by that actor, and he also thanks her for her intelligent questions. He promises that the next time he releases a movie, she will be the first one to get an interview with him.

On the other hand, while doing an action stunt, Hyun-jun hurts himself when he goes a bit too low on the floor. Even though it is too hard for him to complete the task, he still tries his best because Byung-gi helped him out in the beginning. But there is another thing that is affecting Hyun-jun tremendously, which is the fact that his own brother came to act in his show. He really did not want his brother to enter the entertainment industry, and this is something that completely frazzles him.

Hyun-jun also gets the idea that Jeong-sin might be a stand-in for the actual person. Thus, to verify that he goes to meet Jeong-sin and her editor. To test whether Jeong-sin is really his fan or not, Hyun-jun tries to give her limited edition things and even acts out a scene from his series.  Though at first he doubts her, he finally confirms that she is the one with whom he has been talking all this time.

After realising this, he starts to act very favourably towards her and even tries to impress her. When Hyun-jun gets asked whether he is dating Se-na, he becomes angry and vehemently denies the rumours. However, when he tries to re-ignite conversation through the Onion app, Jeong-sin tells him that she would like to stay as a friend, as he is still going through a broken heart. This obviously enrages Hyun-jun.

Later, Jae-hyung gives a lift to Jeong-sin after learning that she had been dumped by the guy she was flirting with. After that, something very hilarious happens, and the episode comes to an end.

I liked today’s episode as I think the comedy worked better here. The chemistry between the characters is also nice. Plus, the romance aspect will finally get more attention from the next episode.
