Nice to Not Meet You Episode 3 Recap

The episode opens after Hyeon-jun appears in front of Jeong-sin while she’s on her way to work. In an interesting turn of events, he apologises to her, on his management’s say, and then asks her to sign an agreement, essentially banning her from publishing anything negative about him. Whatever goodwill he had created with her disappears almost instantly, and she threatens him to never come in front of her with something like this.

Later, Hyeon-jun desperately tries to find something different to play, but there’s nothing out there for him other than action parts. Hwang eventually hands him a script that he falls in love with, but the only problem is that he has to work alongside Se-na. Past feelings come to the surface again, and Hyeon-jun is still angry with Se-na for derailing his career early on for selfish reasons. In the end, though, he agrees to work with her, but only if he gets paid double of whatever she is.

That night, he gets a surprise visit from his mother and is left heartbroken and suicidal when she blames him for her onscreen image that she could never shake off after he refuses to buy her another car. On the other hand, Jeong-sin, too, finds herself in the hospital after her appendix bursts. When news reaches about Hyeon-jun’s attempt to take his own life, Hwa-yeong asks someone to cover the story, but is left surprised upon learning that Jeong-sin is in the same hospital.

She immediately meets her and asks her to get as much dirt as possible on the situation if she ever wants to go back to the main paper. Jeong-sin is unsure at first, but eventually agrees to do it in lieu of getting her old job back. She sneaks her way into his cabin and overhears a conversation between Se-na, Hyeon-ju and his mother that leaves her completely baffled. Secretly standing in his bathroom, she further overhears them negotiating his pay.

She is eventually discovered and ends up coming up with a compromise so that they can quash all the rumours surrounding his hospital visit. That night, the two bump into each other again and, in the midst of their conversation, Jeong-sin collapses once again. Hyeon-jun rescues her and brings her back into the hospital like a true action hero and eventually gets all the praise and adoration for it.

After they are both released, their brothers set them up on a blind date, and after spending eternity dressing up, they are both taken aback when they see each other at the restaurant.

Another week, another fun episode of Nice to Not Meet You, although we are slowly getting into more serious territories this episode. I love the completely crazy vibe of the drama, and the two leads are fantastic. Although I wonder a bit about Jeong-sin as a journalist and how her character is unfolding, I hope to see more insight into her to understand her better. Overall, this one’s fun and thoroughly entertaining.
