You Are My Spring episode 9 recap

You Are My Spring episode 9 starts with Young-do cutely smiling and texting Da-jeong. She seems to be enjoying it as well, seeing how much she’s blushing and smiling. This scene is just so cute, I couldn’t help but smile as well!

Anyway, we jump back to the ending of the last episode, where Da-jeong looks terrified as Chase is holding the paper rose. Young-do asks him if she’s ok, and she asks him to hold on and then goes up to Chase. She asks him to let her have a look at the rose and opens it up – however, there’s nothing inside it. She asks him whether he made it, but he says that someone left it there.

Da-jeong, clearly uncomfortable, asks him whether there’s something urgent that he needs to discuss. When Chase says that it isn’t urgent, she leaves with Young-do. As Chase is about to leave, Young-do confronts him. Chase asks him to stay in his lane since he doesn’t like the questions that Young-do poses. However, Chase lets it slip that he likes Da-jeong.

Anyway, after that, Young-do lets Da-jeong know in You Are My Spring episode 9 that he will be working late, while Chase finds another rose stuck on his windshield. This one has something written on it – although we don’t see what’s written on it, we are made aware that Chase has a camera that probably caught the perpetrator.

Da-jeong visits Young-do in You Are My Spring episode 9 and they engage in a funny banter about Young-do’s ripped shirt from the last episode. A while later, Da-jeong tells him that he doesn’t have to wait up for her – she left the café because she didn’t like the fact that she was starting to feel scared. They discuss why she doesn’t like feeling scared, but she doesn’t go too deep into it at first.

Just as she’s about to leave though, Da-jeong suddenly turns around and starts telling Young-do about her painful past. She breaks down while talking about the things that happened to her mother.  I won’t get into it here, and if you like the characters here, your heart will break for Da-jeong. Seo Hyun‑jin is absolutely amazing here, her pain is so real that you will feel it through your screen.

Anyway, Young-do hugs Da-jeong as she cries on his shoulder and he consoles her. The next scene is of Young-do running around confused trying to find tissue paper for her. He is even more confused when she asks to eat something and she asks him to come up to the terrace to eat together. On the roof, in You Are My Spring episode 9, Young-do teases Da-jeong about the perfume that she’s wearing.

They talk about their childhood and Young-do continues to tease her. If you pay attention, you’ll be able to figure out that Young-do compliments Da-jeong quite a lot in this episode and calls her pretty, cute and beautiful. It’s so sweet!

The next day in You Are My Spring episode 9, Young-do and Detective Ko stop by the café to talk about stuff. Meanwhile, Da-jeong calls Chase to apologise for the way she behaved the last day, however, he cuts her off and ends the call abruptly. That’s because Chase is meeting someone – probably the person who left him the flower?

Meanwhile, a detective is interviewing the guy who was hit on the head the other day. If you guys remember the homeless guy who was outside the locker from where Da-jeong got the music box – yep, this is him. The detective, too, catches on to that (thank god!) The homeless guy talks about someone putting a hit on him and that he was fooled by an 18-year-old.

Young-do and Ko are talking about the same thing at the café in You Are My Spring episode 9. They agree to send the video for gait analysis. Anyway, Kang Tae-jung comes over to meet Da-jeong and Young-do also joins them. The conversation is interesting, to say the least. Anyway, even Tae-jung is taken aback as to how much they like each other.

Chase texts Da-jeong and asks her to meet him in You Are My Spring episode 9. They go out to have lunch and the owner slaps him in the back and asks him to chew his food. It’s pretty funny. Anyway, as they are hanging out later, Chase asks her whether she’d understand if he wanted to meet her and have a meal with her again. He looks at her intensely and it’s enough to make me sweat.

Later on, we see kept the roses for Chase – he’s a scary looking dude, but his identity is still a mystery.

Da-jeong leaves the shirt for Young-do, complete with a note and an origami rose. He goes upstairs to meet Da-jeong, both giddy with excitement. Da-jeong goes to talk to Cheol-do and promises to come back soon. When she returns in You Are My Spring episode 9, she finds Young-do sleeping. He gets up and kisses her and asks her not to leave. The episode ends with them looking at each other.

If you’ve watched You Are My Spring episode 9 and want to know how much I am losing my mind about this romance, then, yes I am absolutely losing my mind. Additionally, this episode had more interesting moments, with us getting to know about the homeless man as well as Chase’s angle. Hopefully, it only goes up from here. And if not, I think I will be totally at peace with Da-jeong and  Young-do’s romance!
