Reflection of You episode 7 starts with Hui-ju losing It in front of Woo-jae and protectively holding Ho-su. Although Woo-jae is confused regarding why she is so scared of him, the question is never answered since Hyeon-seong comes to see the commotion. Woo-jae gives them an excuse and looks confused and apologetic, although Hui-ju is far from accepting.

Meanwhile, Hae-won is coaching Ju-yeong regarding Hui-ju and getting all the information from her. Outside she comes across Li-sa and plants the seed of doubt in her mind that although he’s married to Woo-jae, the latter was in love with someone for a while. It has the correct effect on her as she looks back at Hae-won concerned and curious.

Hyeon-seong, on the other hand, asks to drop Woo-jae off. In the car, he asks him whether he wants to have kids. It’s kind of an awkward conversation, at the end of which Woo-jae says that he’s not ready for kids. As they’re about to leave, Hae-won stops their car and asks Hui-ju to get out. Once out, Hae-won throws a drink on her, much to the shock of Hyeon-seong and Woo-jae. The latter then stop Hae-won from assaulting Hui-ju further.

As Hae-won cries in Woo-jae’s arms, Hui-ju drives back home and thinks through everything that happened in Reflection of You episode 7. Meanwhile, Li-sa is going through a crisis, thanks to Hae-won’s planted seed. Back at Hae-won’s home, Woo-jae is confused as to why his wife reacted the way he did. She, in turn, unloads how their relationship is not ok since he doesn’t even remember her.

That night in Reflection of You episode 7, Li-sa asks her mother about her paintings and the flowers that she had found. She says that she remembers the flowers in the field where she used to draw and she also remembers seeing Woo-jae there. However, Hui-ju tells her that it was her father. Li-sa says that she should then ask Hyeon-seong, leaving Hui-ju looking terrified.

Back at Hae-won’s, in Reflection of You episode 7, Woo-jae apologises for not understanding her feelings and comforts her. This leads to them making out and getting intimate. Afterwards, though, he looks kinda confused and guilty. As he gets up and leaves, Hae-won curls up in bed and cries.

The next morning in Reflection of You episode 7, Li-sa asks Hyeon-seong about the flowers when they went to meet Hui-ju abroad. He, however, is not aware of them. Li-sa gives a telling look at her mother and leaves the table. Later, Hui-ju goes to meet a disturbed Woo-jae. She asks him whether he met Li-sa and asks him what he told her. He says that he only told her the name of the flower and nothing else. Hui-ju is able to add 2 and 2 from his admission.

Anyway, Woo-jae promises to try and not run into Li-sa anymore and Hui-ju apologises for barging in. Before leaving, Hui-ju tells Woo-jae that Hae-won was right – they did hate each other and that, since he doesn’t remember it, then it never happened. However, Woo-jae tells her that he is concerned about her since it always looks like she is running from something. He tells her that whatever it is, it’s going to be ok. Hui-ju simply closes the door and drives off.

Hae-won signs the contract to work at Jung-eun’s exhibition studio in Reflection of You episode 7. The former tries to rope Hui-ju as well. So now, both Hui-ju and Hae-won will be working together, of course, at very different capacities. It is later that she gets to know that Hae-won will be working with her as well. They discuss Woo-jae and his father and Hui-ju’s thoughts take Jung-eun by surprise.

Later, in Reflection of You episode 7, Hae-won is shocked to find that Woo-jae has sent the money from the exhibit to her. She asks him whether they should get married using the money, however, he doesn’t seem too keen. However, her enthusiasm makes it hard for him to say no, and he eventually relents.

Later, Woo-jae reactivates his email id and goes through his emails to find one from the Embassy of Korea in Ireland. The email states that he had gone missing sometime in 2014. The next day, a curious Woo-jae goes to the police and confirms that he was indeed listed as missing and the embassy located his whereabouts after finding his travel logs to Ireland. When asked who made the report, the officer says that it was Hae-won. Woo-jae is left puzzled.

While Hui-ju learns what Hyeon-seong did with Hae-won’s employment, Woo-jae meets Hyeon-seong to ask him about the man who saved his life. However, Hyeon-seong is unable to help him then and there but promises to look into it. Before leaving, Hyeon-seong asks him whether Hae-won knows and whether he’s moving to another hospital. He says no to both those counts and leaves. Turns out the reclusive sponsor “Mr Choi” works under Hyeon-seong.

Later, in Reflection of You episode 7, Woo-jae finds Hui-ju at the top of the building that is supposed to get demolished. Hae-won is concerned when she finds Woo-jae’s location at the same place. She confesses her feelings to Sun-woo, after which Ok-soo asks him whether she knows he’s a murderer.

Back at home, Woo-jae asks Hae-won whether he had run away from her since she reported her missing all those years ago. He asks her why he left and Hae-won says that she’d like to know the reason too. He told her that he’d tell her everything after he came back and so she waited. However, when he did come back, he couldn’t even recognise her.

Awkwardness prevails as Hui-ju, Hae-won and Woo-jae work together. Hae-won mentions to Jung-eun that her and Woo-jae are planning to have a wedding soon. Hui-ju makes the backhanded comment of wishing them happiness “this time”. Woo-jae catches that comment and asks her why this time? Were they not happy before? Before she can answer the question though, Hae-won gets a call from her mother and rushes out when she gets to know that her grandfather is hurt.

Grandpa is all right, so much so that he beats Woo-jae when he sees him. It’s scary and hilarious. I like a protective grandpa, he’s cute. He warns Woo-jae that if he ever hurts her then grandpa is going to tear his limbs and eat them. Inside, in Reflection of You episode 7, the couple talks about their wedding and honeymoon. Well, Hae-won blabbers about it in her sleep.

As she is deeply asleep, Woo-jae leaves and walks to the building that will be demolished. He stands at the top of a building, remembering some broken memories from his past. And who else is there to save a falling Woo-jae than Hui-ju. The two look into each other’s eyes as they get drenched.

Also:

  • Li-sa tries to sleep over at Ju-yeong’s place but the latter’s loud father and an awkward peck make her run home.
  • Hyeon-seong asks Woo-jae to switch hospitals in front of Sun-woo which the latter tells Hui-ju.

Summing up: Reflection of You episode 7

Reflection of You episode 7’s relationships are getting oh-so toxic. As the season rolls on, I am intrigued to know which direction it is going. The four people are so enmeshed with each other that it is difficult to root for one. On the other hand, if the show tries to show me that Woo-jae and Hui-ju’s relationship is canon and Hae-won tries to hurt herself for some dude, then I will be flipping tables. Neither of those things is romantic or necessary in 21st-century love stories and the audience doesn’t need that toxicity. However, I think I am getting ahead of myself.

This episode has been mostly melodrama. The episode feel like a filler, with nothing significant happening. However, I was thoroughly engrossed in the story, as I have been since the first episode. It remains to be seen what drama the next episode brings.
