Reflection of You episode 2 starts with frantic Hui-ju thinking back to her time with Hae-won and wondering about her motivations right now. What happened all those years ago? Is there a horrible secret that we don’t know about yet? Ah, I guess it’s too early for that.
Anyway, now alone in her studio, she thinks back to a comment Hae-won made about how one will eventually find something new if they keep imitating. Irritated, she takes a few of her paintings and throws them out. Meanwhile, in Reflection of You episode 2, Seong-hyeon is baffled as to how a mysterious person named Hannah has checked out a patient of his from the hospital.
Lying in the darkness, Hae-won examines a photograph of her, Hui-ju and the man from the hospital. She says out loud, “Why did you do it?” and then closes her eyes. Hui-ju later comes home to find out that Li-sa has gone to bed after meeting a friend and Ho-su is at his grandmother’s. Seong-hyeon asks him why she let Hae-won in earlier when she bothers her so much. It’s best to ignore her attempts at apologizing.
That night, Hui-ju wakes up to find Li-sa blasting music. She screams that she cannot hear anything and keeps making a ruckus, much to Ho-su’s disdain who seems to be very distressed. The next day at the hospital in Reflection of You episode 2, Min-seo tells her to keep her children safe from her mother in law since she is out to get Hui-ju’s son. Although she is sceptical and refuses to believe such a claim, Min-seo tells her that since she took her son, Young-sun will take her’s.
Later at the hospital, Ho-su walks into Hae-won and spills ice cream on her. She makes him apologise and buys him a new one, effectively winning his heart. When Hui-ju asks him whom he was waving to, he says it was a dinosaur-looking woman (her green coat). Meanwhile, Hae-won finishes her ice cream and sits at a church.
Later, in Reflection of You episode 2, Seong-hyeon talks to one of the students who is Li-sa’s friend. He asks him whether something happened the day before since Li-sa is feeling a little sick. She says that it’s not her fault and that she has stopped being a doormat to Li-sa’s cranky attitude since Hae-won had told them that true friends shouldn’t have to pretend in front of each other. This makes Seong-hyeon think.
Meanwhile, Hae-won is chatting it up with Sun-woo and is out having lunch with her. In the midst of it, she invites Hui-ju over so that she can see her talking to her brother. Of course, she questions him about it but stays out of it when Hae-won asks her why it’s any of her business. Moving on, Hui-ju asks her what she told her daughter because previously, Li-sa was a lively and kind girl.
However, Hae-won tells her that parents never think that their children can ever be the problem. She tells her that she saw Li-sa not drawing anything in school and then buying her friend’s work. Hae-won says that it’s not a crime to buy someone else’s talent, however, she has no respect for other people. She is, though, young still and can thus change.
When she asks Li-sa this, the latter tells her that Hae-won is lying and that there wasn’t a problem before this. Hui-ju tells her that it might have been a misunderstanding since she and Ju-yeong have been close for since long. However, Li-sa asks her to not meet Hae-won. That night, Hui-ju is frustrated at not being able to contact Sun-woo.
The next day, in Reflection of You episode 2, Hui-ju waits outside Sun-woo’s hospital to catch hold of him. She asks him how he knows Hae-won and why he was out having lunch with her. She tells him that she was the teacher who hit Li-sa and thus she asks him to stay away from her.
Later, in Reflection of You episode 2, Hae-won meets up with someone at the airport and shows her some sculptures in a warehouse that baffles her. She later talks to Ju-yeong about the latter’s meeting with Seong-hyeon and is sceptical when she says that he was a great guy.
While creating a video for her art exhibition, Hui-ju gives us a glimpse into her life and why she started drawing in the first place. Her relationship with Hae-won seems to go back far, and her appreciation for her ex-friend seems to run beyond friendship.
Talking to her husband, Hui-ju gets to know that Hae-won was hired through the vice principal’s recommendation. Apparently, her daughter knew her from before. When she meets her the next day, the VC’s daughter tells her that it was Hae-won who had suggested working at Li-sa’s school. While coming back home, Hae-won appears in front of Hui-ju’s car and starts crying and apologizing for doing what she did.
Later, Seong-hyeon is in for a shock when she realizes that the nameless person who was discharged from the hospital by Hannah is none other than Hae-won’s husband, Woo-jae. He is absolutely shocked at the revelation. We also see the day of Hae-won and Woo-jae’s wedding photoshoot where things seem to be a bit tense between Hui-ju and him. Things are about to get murkier!
Final Thoughts: Reflection of You episode 2
Reflection of You episode 2 reveals a lot. There is a genuinely great mystery which I think is surrounding Hae-won and Hui-jus relationship and between the former and Seong-hyeon. There is probably infidelity involved and maybe medical negligence? But then again, this is all up in the air. The series is progressing at a rapid pace, and considering we still have 14 more episodes to watch, I am sure it’s going to be a fun ride.
Reflection of You is streaming on Netflix.
