Netflix’s Michael McIntyre: Showman Review: As Hilarious and Amazing as it Gets

Michael McIntyre: Showman premiered on Netflix on 15th September 2020. This is the comedian’s Netflix Comedy Special debut and he flawlessly works his charm!

Michael McIntyre: Showman? Hell, yes!

In recent times, Netflix has introduced us to a host of new comedians. While some were just offensive and obnoxious, others were pure gems like Sam Jay, Jack Whitehall, and now McIntyre as he brings his first-ever comedy special – Michael McIntyre: Showman. As a first time viewer of Michael McIntyre, I found his set hilarious and amazing!

I can’t help but root for McIntyre’s standup special and would have to admit that it is one of the funniest sets I’ve seen in recent times. His stage presence and jokes will leave you laughing, and the chances are very low that you’ll find it unfunny! Like other comedians, he jokes about his wife and kids and brings forth small issues like how your bladder gives up when you’re old and how it gets difficult to pee at 3:00 in the night because if your wife wakes up, god save him, she’ll shop for shoes!

He talks about how he has no Asian connections but looks like an Asian and nobody knows why. He also adds that while he is a 4 everywhere else in the world, he is an 8 in Hong Kong and that brings him confidence! And it is as hilarious as it gets. The way he builds scenarios with ease and perfection with vivid imagery are relatable and hilarious.

McIntyre wears a misfitted suit which rides up as soon as he takes his hands up and, throughout his set, it never ceases to be funny. One of my favourite jokes in the stand-up is when he mimics his son and says – Oh, sorry! That’s not my son, I don’t know who I was mimicking because he is way more middle class than this! Honestly, I laughed out loud.

STREAM IT! As a first-time viewer of Michael McIntyre, I would recommend everyone to watch, Michael McIntyre: Showman and see him build scenarios in such a way that you can not only imagine but relate too! His craft is hilarious and I would love to call him one of the Kingsmen’s here! Michael McIntyre walks you through super-trivial domestic matters in a hilarious manner and the special is worth every minute of it! Add this in your watchlist and watch it whenever you wanna have a good laugh!
