Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 13 recap:

Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 13 starts with Hye-jin in a very good mood, and it’s quite expected since it’s Du-sik’s birthday! However, her excitement is dampened a bit when she sees that everyone is already at his place and there are tons of food. However, it’s still such a lively celebration.

Later on, she gets a moment to give him the seaweed soup that she made for him and he laps it up. However, in a cut scene, we see Mi-seon complaining about how salty the soup is. Du-sik, in an attempt to not break Hye-jin’s heart, lies to her. Hilariously, later on, the entire neighbourhood runs off in order to give the lovebirds some privacy.

Next, Hye-jin’s acquaintances visit the clinic and make fun of it and the café but are shocked to see Du-sik. However, Hye-jin is left shocked in Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 13 when he agrees to go golfing the next day. Looking as dashing as ever, the two of them reach the club and Hye-jin’s college mates are shocked to see a transformed Du-sik. However, he suffers badly while trying to use honorifics to address her friends.

After an amazing golfing session where Du-sik leaves everyone shocked with his skill, everyone retires to rest. Hye-jin boasts about Du-sik’s skills and his college, which clearly makes him very uncomfortable. However, when they ask him what he does for a living, he tells them the truth – he does everything and nothing. They are impressed but tells Hye-jin later to be realistic about getting married.

Later that day in Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 13, Hye-jin asks Du-sik when he decided to live this lifestyle, or rather, what happened during those five years that no one knows about. However, in spite of putting forth many hypotheses, Du-sik tells her that it was as boring as him having a desk job. However, he refuses to disclose more than that.

Back at home in Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 13, Hye-jin thinks about her discussion with Du-sik regarding going to Seoul. Du-sik, however, thinks of a time gone by – a time when he had bought a suit with Seon-a’s help. We are yet to know who this is, but she will definitely make an impact in the story.

There’s a typhoon warning brewing on the horizon and Yun-gyeong and Geum-cheol have a huge fight regarding him not paying enough attention and constantly berating his heavily pregnant wife. She asks him to get out and he does, her shoelaces left untied. Geun-cheol goes to Du-sik who tells him off for not taking care of his wife’s needs.

Anyway, Hye-jin goes over to the supermarket and finds Yun-gyeong crying and the store a mess. She picks everything up for her and even ties her shoelaces. The two women then talk about how they admire each other for the lives that they are living. However, in between this conversation, Yun-gyeong’s water breaks and Hye-jin calls Geum-cheol to let him know. Unfortunately, his phone is at Du-sik’s place who picks it up and after hearing everything, rushes over to the supermarket to help Yun-gyeong.

Unfortunately, the roads are all blocked due to the typhoon in Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 13 and Hye-jin asks Du-sik to take them to her place for Yun-gyeon to give birth – something is better than nothing. Du-sik calls Gam-ri to get tips about home birth, meanwhile, Geum-cheol reaches the supermarket only to find it empty and unlocked. He calls his wife and is shocked to hear the news.

At Hye-jin’s place, the painful birthing process takes almost the whole night and after a lot of pain, tears and screaming, the little member is finally born. Everyone is ecstatic and take turns holding the baby. After an exhaustive night, Du-sik takes Hye-jin to his place so that they can both get some sleep.

Just as they are about to fall asleep, she asks him whether he has thought about how many children he wants in the future and as such. However, he tells her that he hasn’t thought about it and promptly falls asleep. This upsets Hye-jin who gets up and checks out his book collection.

In one of the books though, she finds a photograph of a baby Du-sik with two people, one of them being Seon-a. Du-sik comes in just then and aggressively takes the pictures away from her. Hye-jin asks him who these people are and after not getting a concrete response, asks him whether he will continue to give her vague answers like this. She further questions him in Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 13 regarding his past and why he doesn’t open up to her whereas she has told him everything. After all of Hye-jin’s words, Du-sik can only apologise.

Also:

  • Du-sik and Seong-hyeon have a heart to heart regarding the latter’s lost appetite.
  • Yeong-guk realizes that Hwa-jeong let him win and apologises to her later.
  • Mi-seon reminds Eun-cheol that there’s no manual for dating.

Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 13 is filled with heavy emotions; firstly Yun-gyeong’s delivery and the looming problem of Du-sik shielding something in his past. It will be interesting to see what actually happened to Du-sik for him to leave everything and live his life in Gongjin.
