Netflix Cancels Jupiter’s Legacy, Read What Went Wrong!

It is really upsetting when a good show gets cancelled by a streaming platform. Unfortunately, Netflix has cancelled a lot of good shows, which has left many fans upset. Adding to the list of the cancelled show is Jupiter’s Legacy that released last month. The digital platform has cancelled the second season of the superhero series.

The web series is based on Mark Millar’s comic book series. The Netflix show starred Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, Matt Lanter and David Julian Hirsh. Millar himself has confirmed the news of the show’s cancellation on his Twitter page.

As reported by Deadline, Netflix decided to pass on Jupiter’s Legacy Season 2 and released the star cast. The report states that Mark Millar and the streaming platform had some creative difference which failed to settle in time. Hence, they had no choice but to cancel the show!

Mark Millar shared a lengthy post on his Twitter page revealing that the superhero series won’t have season 2. He also shared about making another series from the same universe called Supercrooks. Millar tweeted, “I’m really proud of what the team achieved with Jupiter’s Legacy and the amazing work everyone did on that origin season. I’ve been asked a lot about what we’re planning next with this world and the answer is to see what the super-villains are getting up to.”

“I’ve always loved crime stories from Scorcese to Tarantino, and super-villains are always the most fun part of any superhero story. To do something exclusively focused on the villains they fight just feels incredibly fresh as we explore what it’s like to be a bad guy in a world crawling with good guys who want to put you in jail. Jupiter’s Legacy is a vast and rich space with lots of characters to mine and so I’m happy to share that our next step here is a live-action version of the Supercrooks comic I created with Leinil Francis Yu a few years back, added Millar.

About what he’s planning to do with Supercrooks, Mark Millar shared, “Note: Supercrooks will appear first as an Anime series from Studio Bones later this year. @leinilyu & I have created a lot of new stuff for this show and it’s looking fantastic. It’ll be previewed at the Annecy animation festival in France later this month!”

It is indeed upsetting because this is happening to some of the best shows on Netflix. Last year, the streaming giant cancelled season two of I Am Not Okay With This. The show had a good fan following who eagerly awaited the next season after ending it on a major cliffhanger.

  1. Here we go again. It’s getting to the point where there’s no point watching a show until all seasons have aired because it’s a waste of time getting into any of them until I know there’s a definite end.
I don’t know about anyone else but who wants to watch the beginning of a show, start to get to know characters, enjoy and look forward to what’s coming only for the rug to be well and truly pulled from underneath all of us who have watched and want more.
