My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 6 Review- You’ve Done Enough

I’ve been singing the praises of this season ever since it started and haven’t met much resistance so far. It seems like people who didn’t give up on the show are starting to come around again, which is fantastic to see. However, despite how much has already taken place in this season, I feel like the story of this arc has only just begun. With Shigaraki awoken and the plotline with Hawks and Twice out of the way, and the Meta Liberation Front being in tatters, the show has finally done away with the training wheels for this season, which is an extremely exciting prospect.

The biggest indication of that happening is that Izuku and Bakugou are again in the mix after a big spell of irrelevancy in the show. Not only that, but the writers also came up with a fantastic reason as to why they got involved at this time and not sometime earlier or later this season. It is based a lot on the prior connections that Shigaraki and Izuku have shared, and their destinies are linked in a way no other characters are in the show. Let’s talk about some of their parallels and where they differ,

They are both the chosen ones- the inheritors of two of the most powerful quirks in the show, where one was created by the other, and the other used the powers inadvertently given to it to form a resistance to overthrow the forces of evil. While One For All has had multiple holders so far, All For One has only ever had two, and the previous owner was even responsible for killing several other holders of the opposing quirk. Thus, Shigaraki and Deku are natural enemies and destined to face each other until one of them gives up, leading to some great storytelling.

The frantic pace and overall excitement of this season have yet to subside, which is a great thing! It has been delivering one fantastic episode after another in an attempt to finish off a couple of very important arcs, alongside fixing some of its damaged reputation. Both plans have been a rousing success. This episode saw Shigaraki and Endeavor go up against each other, as Deku and Bakugou helped out any way they could. The situation has become ever so dangerous since Shigaraki got here, and despite how the Heroes want to save most of the children from combat, it might become necessary quite soon.

Bakugou has also shown some intense character development since he learned about Deku being All Might’s successor, even though his screen time has only gotten lower. He is a polarising character in the show, but I do love him and what he represents, which is working hard enough to get on top by yourself even if the whole world is against you. His and Izuku’s relationship has almost become a friendship by now, which is lovely to see. Overall, this episode wasn’t as eventful as some of the previous ones but maintained the high quality of this season.
Verdict
My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 6 was an intense outing filled with desperation and fear on the part of the heroes and excitement for the surviving villains and the audience combined.
