Monstrous Posters: Goo Kyo Hwan and Shin Hyun Been’s Terrifying Close Ups

Horror K-dramas are looking more attractive nowadays than the romantic ones, with the recent release of All of Us Are Dead on Netflix that won accolades and hearts, Monstrous is another upcoming horror drama that promises to capture us. Yeon Sang Ho serves as the writer for this series, who we already know for cult classics like Train to Busan, Peninsula, The Cursed and more, meanwhile, the director is the award-winning personality Jang Gun Jae.

Monstrous will focus on archaeologists who chase the inhumane, dangerous cases that are too monstrous to be true. The story will centre around a village overcome with disaster after the discovery of a mysterious Buddha statue that everyone deems to be possessed. We have actors Goo Kyo Hwan and Shin Hyun Been leading the show. Kyo Hwan plays an eccentric archaeologist named Jung Ki Hoon and Shin Hyun Been plays the role of a pattern cryptanalyst Lee Soo Jin who ends up having to face a terrible disaster. Both of our mains meet in Jinyang County where the possessed statue is discovered.

The second teaser posters for Monstrous have come out already and, feature our protagonists in rather horrifying looks. The close-up shots show our actors glass-eyed with a black cloth covering one of their eyes and, we can also see the reflection of the Buddha statue in the other.

The posters mention that the characters are possessed with ‘bizzare powers’ and it also says, “Those who see the eyes will be trapped in hell” on the edges of the posters.
