Medusa Review

The plot of the show follows Bárbara Hidalgo who is attacked after being appointed as the CEO of Medusa. While she manages to survive the deadly attack, she loses her memories and emerges as a brand-new person which is a stark contrast to her previous self. While everyone in her family is suspicious about her losing her memories, she is also suspicious of those around her when she finds out that she wasn’t in an accident but was attacked. Soon, a history better forgotten begins to see the light as she comes face to face with the person she once was.

There is no doubt that the plot of the show is intriguing and seeing some rich family drama unfold is something we all love once in a while. And when it is the most powerful family in the city, that owns almost everything there, we know that we are in for some glimpses of the dark side as well. All these merged into a thriller is exactly what captivates the audience and we knew that we were ready for some good entertainment.

Luckily, Medusa doesn’t disappoint for most of the part as the show slowly moves along the lines of a good mystery thriller when it comes to the basic plot. As Barbara teams up with an unruly detective and a man who convinces her that he is a friend, she soon begins to look back at her past self, her actions, and the chaos that she once caused.

Alongside her journey of self-realisation comes her spiritual journey which really intrigued me. As she connects with a deeper self within her, we see a new journey unfold right here which can be a reason for the drastic change that happens in her character. I have to say, Barbara’s personal journey intrigues me more than the thriller in the plot, though seeing this mystery unfold is also interesting but her journey is better.

Finally, we have to talk about the steamy scenes of the show which are many and done pretty well. These scenes are sensual, and smooth, and create a charm of their own whenever they pop up in the plot. They don’t seem sudden and I like this about them all.

Altogether, this show was better than I expected and I have to say, I enjoyed most of it well.

Summing Up

Medusa (2025) is an intriguing thriller series which keeps you wondering who the real culprit is among all the suspects. While this mystery begins to get solved in the last few episodes just through observing characters, it still manages to keep us captivated by the family drama taking place. Altogether, the show is a good watch for both thriller and drama lovers.

Watch Medusa on Netflix.
