Similarly, the main and dessert team discuss what they can cook, how to go about it and make sure the selected ingredient shines and the dish is overall delicious.

The Fans are stressed out as they selected Egg Plant as the ingredient for the main dish, and Sashi is good with the vegetable. He decides to cook a curry that’s one of the best dishes on his restaurant menu. Both the teams are pumped up but quite nervous about facing the service challenge in the second episode.

Harry from the Fans team tells Andy and Jock that their entrée dish is Jerusalem Artichoke puree topped with crispy grilled artichoke and some artichoke chips. A worried Andy says, “that’s a lot of artichokes”. But Harry is quite sure of her dish, and Jock and Andy wish her luck. The blue team, aka Favourites, decide to make Jerusalem artichoke chips and tuna tartare with citrus emulsion. Mindy is a bit nervous due to a messy service challenge in her previous season. Jock is a bit doubtful about the Favourite team’s entrée.

Dulan is worried about the main dish seeing Sashi and his team calm while cooking. He is the one who selected the eggplant as the ingredient for the main dish. When he shares the idea of his main course with Andy and Jock, the judges show concern. Dulan is also worried about seeing their reaction. Sashi and his team prepare Eggplant curry with cumin rice. The dessert groups of both the teams are also working on a delicious dish for the dessert.

The Fans and Favourites in MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 2 are worried about their artichoke entrée. Both the teams add a last-minute addition to their entrée dishes. The Favourites/Blue team’s entre dish is Tuna Tartare with Jerusalem Artichoke chips and citrus emulsion. The judges enjoy the taste of the dish. However, the artichoke, the taste of the main ingredient is majorly lacking. The judges decide that the first round goes to the Fans/White team.

It’s time for the main course dish tasting in MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 2 which should feature eggplant. Jock goes to the kitchen side of the Blue team and tastes the gravy made by Sashi. He tells Sashi that it’s not punchy as he ate in his restaurant. Sashi just adds a little bit of lemon juice and sounds confident that his dish will be perfect as he knows. Andy is worried about the White/Fans team main course dish.

The judges first taste the main course dish from the Blue team – Kathirikai with cumin rice. Jock, Andy and Melissa are impressed with the dish and praise Sashi for his cooking skills. The white/Fans serve Pistachio Crusted Lamb with Eggplant Puree and Chermoula. Jock loves the cooking done on the lamb. However, he is not a fan of the puree and eggplant served. The judges are slightly disappointed with their main course dish.

It’s time to taste the dessert from both teams. Fans have made Raspberry Friand with Mascarpone, thyme ice cream and raspberry gel. Sadly, their Friand is a bit undercooked. The dessert made by Favourites is Dusty Pink Domes, with chocolate and raspberry. Even though the dish was well-made, the Favourites failed to feature raspberry in an appropriate amount in their dessert.
