Marvel’s Hawkeye: Hailee Steinfeld Teases the Return of Florence Pugh’s Yelena

Marvel’s Hawkeye is right around the corner and we can only praise how it is going to be the perfect Christmas treat! The story is going to quintessentially focus on the character arc of Clint Barton aka Hawkeye. He will be joined by Kate Bishop (played by Hailee Steinfeld). And yes, together they try to beat the bad guys to make it at home in time for Christmas.

However, even though the storyline looks clear to us, it clearly isn’t as there are a few surprise characters whose presence might determine a lot of the premise, but we still don’t know their role. One such character is Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, who we first see in the ‘Black Widow’ film and is our next in line to take up Natasha Romanoff’s path in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to the ‘Black Widow’ post-credits scene, we see Val frame Clint Barton (played by Jeremy Renner) as the guy who pushed Natasha to death. So, it is only expected that they will have a pretty ugly meet & greet in Hawkeye. However, Hailee Steinfeld has been coy with her response when asked about the topic. During an interview with Extra, Steinfeld said: “They meet, huh? Wow. I bet that’s a fun and interesting encounter.” Talking about work, Hailee Steinfeld had previously revealed that she and Pugh had had a “wonderful time together” on the set.

The teasing response is only an indication of how well Steinfeld is preserving and safeguarding the secret of what comes undone when Yelena and Hawkeye come face to face.
