The much anticipated The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Teaser Trailer is finally out and, fans cannot stop swooning over the return of the fantasy world that shaped literature and cinema, alike. The upcoming series is based on stories by J. R. R. Tolkien, just like the film trilogy and has been Developed by J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay for Amazon Prime Video. It is set against the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings that Tolkien wrote about took place.
In association with Amazon Studios, the series is produced by the Tolkien Estate and Trust, HarperCollins, and New Line Cinema, with Payne and McKay serving as showrunners. The cast of the series includes Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Markella Kavenagh, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Charlie Vickers, Maxim Baldry, Lenny Henry, Simon Merrells and Charles Edwards.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Teaser Trailer that dropped during the third quarter of the Super Bowl 2022 gives us a glimpse into the life in the middle world before the King, Fellowship or, even the rings existed. The teaser trailer opens with a monologue from a harfoot, which is essentially what hobbits might have been called back in the days, saying, “there are wonders in the world that are beyond wondering”.

The monologue sets the course for an adventure very similar to what Frodo went through. However, we can consider that Frodo’s mission served the safety and, the ultimate destruction of the ring. The upcoming series might possibly focus on the adventure that took place in finding and forging the rings in the first place.
It is still very vague from the teaser trailer about where the series will be heading. However, we do get a look at most of our main characters and, scenes through the misty mountains, elf-capital of Lindon and, shores of Númenor. The teaser trailer does not hint towards an impending doom like climax which means that it is set in a relatively peaceful world, probably after the defeat of Morgoth, Sauron’s master.
