The chemistry between Kim Seon-ho as Chief Hong and Shin Min-a as Yoon Hye-jin made us fall in love with them. The villagers of this village were also of great entertainment to us. Another Shin Min-a Kdrama with Seaside village, Our Blues is streaming currently and viewers are loving it already. The big star cast like Lee Byung-hun, Han Ji-min, Kim Wo-bin, Lee Jung-eun and their romantic stories on the Jeju island has created a buzz among the fans. Owing to this trend, the Instagram channel of Netflix’s The Swoon posted a list of Kdramas with seaside villages. The list includes popular recent shows like Hometown Cha Cha Cha and Our Blues.

The list also includes Kang Ha-neul’s 2019 thriller rom-com When the Camelia Blooms, Kang So-ra’s 2015 Kdrama Warm and Cozy and the popular 2020 Kdrama It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.

Chocolate is a 2019 Korean drama written by Lee Kyung-hee and directed by Lee Hyung-min. This drama series stars Yoon Kye-sang, Ha Ji-won, Min Jin-woong and Teo Yoo. Yoon Kye-sang plays the role of Lee Kang who was raised in the coastal village of Wando. His mother ran a restaurant and hence, he also dreamt of becoming a chef but ends up becoming a neurosurgeon after he moves to Seoul.

Moon Cha-young, played by Ha Ji-won has been abandoned by her mother and she is a survivor of a tragic accident. She dreamt of becoming an actress but is now a chef. When younger, she had eaten a dish cooked by Lee Kang which stayed in her heart forever and became a way for her to choose to be a chef. The story takes a turn when Lee Kang and Moon Chan-young meet after many years at the hospice ward.

Top Star U-back

The 2018 Korean Romantic Comedy Series, Top U-back is written by Lee Si-eun and Lee So-jeong and directed by Yook Hak-chan. The series features Kim Ji-seok, Jeon So-min and Lee Sang-yeob in leading roles. Kang Ji-seok plays an A-list actor and idol Yoo Baek. He is narcissistic and thinks very highly of himself. He is self-centred and brutally honest to the point of hurting people. When he causes trouble, he has to leave Seoul to remove the attention of the media from him and he ends up going to a remote island.

Yoo Baek meets warm-hearted and kind people on the island, ones he never met in Seoul and in his life as a celebrity. Jeon So-min plays the role of Oh Kang-soon who also lives on that island. She is raised on the island and runs her own supermarket. She is a tough and strong girl who dives and picks up Abalones and Sea Mustards from the sea. For a city man like Yoo Baek, she looks like an unsophisticated girl but her bright and optimistic personality makes him fall in love with her.
