Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has always been known for her bold and outspoken nature. However, because of this she has mostly faced criticism worldwide or has been cornered from most of the places be it industry or the media platforms. One such incident took place when recently her account on Twitter was permanently suspended as she had repeatedly violated the rules of Twitter, as said by a spokesperson of the company.
However, this time Kangana’s account was suspended after her bitter comments on the ongoing violence reports after the state elections in West Bengal. After these spiteful comments, many people demanded action against her and looks like Twitter has heard them out.
Reason Behind Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter Account Suspension and the FIR
Furthermore, it is also claimed that Kangana Ranaut’s account was also suspended on the account after she posted a video that demanded President’s rule in West Bengal. In addition to this, she had also tweeted urging Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi to show his “Virat Roop” from the “early 2000s” to “tame” Mamata Banerjee in Bengal.
Recently, an FIR was also lodged in West Bengal against Kangana Ranaut because the Queen actor had tried to spread ‘hate propaganda’ and communal violence in West Bengal by her posts on Instagram. She had also made some discourteous comments on the Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, which said that she is the reason and the cause behind ‘unleashing Hindu Genocide’.
She also wrote, “Shame on everyone who supported this fascist Monster Mamta and shame on this government which can’t protect its supporters.” Probably these comments are self-explanatory as to why these extreme actions are being taken against her on various platforms. Not a good time for Kangana though.
About the action taken against Kangana and the suspension of her account, Twitter’s spokesperson has commented, “We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behaviour that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The referenced account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically our Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy.”
Kangana Ranaut’s Reaction after her account was suspended
Kangana, as always, reacted to the ban of her account in her bold style by being harsh to Twitter and talking in a disgraceful tone about them. She in her statement to ANI claimed that this step of Twitter indirectly shows that they are race biased and also said, ”Twitter has only proved my point they’re Americans and by birth, a white person feels entitled to enslave a brown person, they want to tell you what to think, speak or do. I have many platforms I can use to raise my voice, including my own art in the form of cinema”.
Along with this she also added, “My heart goes out to the people of this nation who have been tortured, enslaved, and censored for thousands of years, and still, there is no end to the suffering.”
Well, this is not the first time that Twitter has taken any action against her account. Before this, Kangana’s account was restricted for some time after she made provocative comments on the web series Tandav. Twitter has also removed some of Kangana’s tweets after she argued with the famous pop singer Rihanna on the farmer’s protests in India. Apart from this, Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel’s Twitter account was also suspended due to hate speech in April last year.
What Kangana should learn from these events is that there is a very thin line between being disrespectful, crossing your limits, and keeping your point and thoughts regarding a particular matter. But what she does is not sharing her opinions but is disrespectful and provocative by the language used when she makes her comments. But unfortunately seeing her not changing even a bit after all these events proves the point that she has not learned anything from all these events.
