Ali Fazal turned to social media to share photos from the set of his next Hollywood film ‘Kandahar.’ T he actor is seen standing next to co-stars Navid Negahban and Gerard Butler. Based on true events, the film is inspired by the experiences of a former military intelligence officer with the Defense Intelligence Agency in Afghanistan.
Kandahar, produced by Thunder Road Films and the Capstone Group, began filming in Saudi Arabia’s Al Ula in December. This is Ali’s first collaboration with director Ric Roman Waugh, who has previously worked with Butler on critically acclaimed films such as Greenland and Angel Has Fallen. We’re hoping that Kandahar is the start of many more joint projects for Ric and Ali, as this exclusive image and the excitement surrounding the intriguing film has really piqued our interest!

Ali’s last project was the Netflix anthology Ray, which was based on the works of legendary director Satyajit Ray. He’s also filming for filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj’s Khufiya. Ali will be next seen in a film starring Gal Gadot called ‘Death On The Nile,’ which is set for a worldwide release on February 11th.
