Inventing Anna is soon set to premiere on Netflix. The upcoming miniseries is created and produced by Shonda Rhimes. It is based on the New York article How Anna (Sorokin) Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People by Jessica Pressler and, is a true story of fashion, glamour, betrayal and knowing someone underneath their appearance. Before the series gets its premiere, here are a few essential things to know.
Inventing Anna Cast
Ozark’s famed star Julia Garner plays the titular role in this series. Taking over the character of Anna Sorkin aka Anna Delvey, Garner portrays the role of a Russian-born German fraudster, who pretended to be a wealthy German heiress from 2013 to 2017 and defrauded banks, hotels, and wealthy acquaintances. The real-life character was convicted of multiple counts of attempted grand larceny, larceny in the second degree, and theft of services back in 2019.
The other cast members include Anna Chlumsky as Vivian, Katie Lowes as Rachel, Laverne Cox as Kacy Duke, Alexis Floyd as Neff, Arian Moayed as Todd, Anders Holm as Jack, Anna Deavere Smith as Maud, Jeff Perry as Lou, Terry Kinney as Barry, Jennifer Esposito as Talia Mallay and Anthony Edwards.

Inventing Anna Plot/Synopsis
Netflix’s description of the limited series reads: “Audacious entrepreneur or con artist? A journalist chases down the story of Anna Delvey, who convinced New York’s elite she was a German heiress”. Netflix further describes the series as scandalous.
Inventing Anna Release Date, Trailer and More
The series is arriving on Netflix on February 11, 2022. It will consist of nine episodes, with the first two being directed by The Devil Wears Prada’s David Frankel.
