Into the Night Season 2: There’s Excitement to Come!

If any of you are waiting eagerly for Into the Night season 2, well, there might be hope still.

For the uninformed, Into the Night is a Belgian apocalyptic series that released on Netflix on May 1, 2020. The plot revolves around a group of survivors who are trying to save themselves from the sun, which is killing everyone and everything in its path. I didn’t expect the series to be this gripping and entertaining, but boy was I surprised. So right now, it’s one of my favourite series on Netflix, and will always come in my top 5s.

Into the Night has 6 nail-biting episodes that are fast-paced and fun. If you’ve watched the series, you’ll probably realise why I love it. And, this would mean that you’re also dying to know what happens after the first season. Do the survivors find a cure/antidote? Are they able to go out into the sunlight somehow? Or do they have to stay bunkered down? Too many questions, very few answers!

The series is inspired by the Polish science fiction novel The Old Axolotl by Jacek Dukaj. It stars Pauline Etienne, Laurent Capelluto, Stefano Cassetti, Jan Bijvoet and others.

So, if you remember the ending of the first season of Into the Night, the group successfully reached the military bunker, the in-charge informs Sylvie that they might have found a way to escape the phenomenon. Or fix it, but that’s too complicated. The season ends there, and it’s definitely safe to assume that, if the series is renewed, we will watch something based on this information.

Now the question is, is an Into the Night Season 2 on the way?

Honestly, Netflix’s hasn’t said anything concrete yet. But that seems to be normal, since Netflix takes some time after a premiere to announce following seasons. This is probably to have atleast 30 days’ worth of data to measure the success of a series. Keep in mind Into the Night was trending after it released, so hopefully that’s clear to go. And honestly, the first season has just lightly touched the novel, so there’s still plenty of material – no problems there as well.

But, there is one problem. With the coronavirus pandemic, production has halted and almost all shootings have been delayed. This means that even if there is a possibility for Into the Night season 2 being a reality, it would be pushed back, atleast for a few months. But with everything said and done, hopefully we’ll get to watch a new season, and get some much-needed answers, in 2021!

We have our fingers crossed for Into the Night season 2!
