How I Met Your Father Season 2 seems inevitable after the way things ended in season one. The American sitcom is created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger and serves as a spin-off for the iconic fan favourite series How I Met Your Mother. The show stars Hilary Duff as Sophie, who is the protagonist of the story along with Christopher Lowell, Francia Raisa, Suraj Sharma, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Kim Cattrall. We followed Sophie’s story for a total of ten episodes in season one, which pretty much ended in a cliffhanger.
In the How I Met Your Father Season 1 finale, we saw things fall apart between Jesse and Sophie and, the latter encountering one of the most loved How I Met Your Mother alumni, Robin Scherbatsky played by Cobie Smulders. We see Robin give Sophie the advice to not be afraid of making her own decisions and, later in that episode, we see Sophie cross paths with Ian (played by Daniel Augustin as Ian)- the Tinder date from the first episode of the series.
The screen cuts to black when Sophie and Ian see each other, leaving the story incomplete and, the fans helplessly waiting for when a second season will arrive. Well, worry not, for we have all the answers you are looking for!
Will there be a How I Met Your Father Season 2?
Even though the series was originally going to be standalone, it was later revealed that popularity and nostalgia it brought back demanded How I Met Your Father to turn into a full-fledged series, which is when it was noted as a spin-off series. The series was, thereafter, renewed for a second season by February 2022, which is way before the first season’s finale aired.
How I Met Your Father Season 2 will navigate through Sophie’s journey of finding the one in her life, much like Ted did during his season. Even though the show has received mixed reviews, hardcore fans cannot wait to see what is in store for Sophie next.
Even the future of Valentina and Charlie’s post-break-up phase along with Sid and Hannah’s newly married life and Ellen finally landing up a date. As for Jesse, we think, the next season will focus more on Ian and, show Jesse on tours and, with Meredith.
