Gutar Gu Season 2 Review

In the second season of this cute Amazon MX Player series, we are faced once again with the tough life decisions of two teens whose love story is so sweet and innocent that it becomes difficult to hate it in any way. Uncomplicated and nostalgic, the second season flows seamlessly from the first and takes us right to Anuj and Ritu’s college classes as they navigate an LDR relationship and try to stay true to their feelings.

As with the first season, the second season is also a warm watch because it adds problems that real teens have when they have school relationships and must now face the challenges of adulthood. Both Ashlesha Thakur and Vishesh Bansal continue to have excellent chemistry and there is just something so charming about them that one can’t help but smile at their antics. There are also a few new characters as the two explore the world further and the friends also add relevancy and sweetness to the mixture that is both hilarious and warm.

Gutar Gu Season 2 Review: Ashlesha Thakur

Gutar Gu Season 2 keeps things light, breezy and funny, which is a reason why the series is so easy to watch. The simplicity of the problems that they face and the earnestness with which they solve them will put a smile on your face. Furthermore, the small moments of annoyance, the silly fights and the overthinking of each other’s intents are hilarious and extremely relatable, brought to the screen aptly by the creators.

However, I feel like it’s Vishesh Bansal who brings the most genuineness and warmth to the screen. As Anuj, he is soft-hearted and kind and his sincerity shines through every moment he is on-screen. Whether it is following his dreams or his love for Ritu, there’s something about Bansal that makes him my favourite. On the other hand, Ashlesha Thakur is a sweet watch too and the two of them share believable chemistry that will make your heart soar. I also liked how the creators did not subject these two characters to sacrifice their careers and education in the name of love and gave a more realistic approach to the young relationship. It makes you want to root for them further and makes it rooted in reality.

Gutar Gu Season 2 is a short, funny and warm show that you would want to watch over and over again. There’s a lot of sincerity, reliability and just genuine emotions that are hard to find on-screen these days. With excellent performances, this one is a sight for sore eyes.
