Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3: Did James Gunn Confirm When it Takes Place?

Marvel fans are eagerly waiting to know what is going to happen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. The story will be set post Avengers: Endgame (2019), where 2014 Gamora has returned. Directed by James Gunn, the MCU film stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Zoe Saldana and Pom Klementieff.

Often, fans ask Gunn about the film’s plot or what changes will happen to the characters. Recently, ‘The Suicide Squad’ director conducted Q&A session on Twitter where he answered some questions by one. One fan asked the director the timeline in which GoTG 3 story will be set. Another fan asked him about the changes we will see in Groot, who was a teenager during Endgame.

A fan tweeted, “so what year is vol 3 set in?” and James replied, “Now”. ‘Now’ means during the present timeline like other Marvel stories shows we have seen so far. Another fan asked, “will we see a more mature groot in vol.3?” To this, the director responded, “Well years have passed.” Gunn’s answer about Groot hints that we might get to see an adult version in the upcoming movie.

However, let’s not make any assumptions now. The best thing would be to watch everything on the big screen.

He’s an amazing actor and wonderful guy. See you in a couple weeks. #AdamWarlock #GotGVol3”.

Will replied to Gunn’s tweet, “Thank you, James. It’s a genuine honour to play this role and to work with you. I’m very excited to get to work.”
