Our Favourite Looks of Alia Bhatt During Gangubai Kathiawadi Promotions

Gangubai Kathiawadi is finally releasing this month and, with that good news comes actress Alia Bhatt’s Instagram feed filled with statement white garments that the actress had been wearing during the promotions of her upcoming movie. The biographical crime drama is produced and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali with Jayantilal Gada also serving as the producer. It is an adaptation of one of the chapters of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai and, stars Bhatt as the leading lady in the film.

Alongside, Alia playing the title character named Gangubai “Ganga” Harjivandas, we also have Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Varun Kapoor, Jim Sarbh and Shanu Kumar. There are other popular actors such as Ajay Devgn, Huma Qureshi and Emraan Hashmi associated with the project, who are going to appear in the film in special cameo roles.

The posters, teasers and, trailer has already shown us how Alia Bhatt is essentially dressed in white sarees throughout the film. Carrying the white theme from reel to real, Bhatt has been dressing herself up in white, be it with a floral touch or statement pearls, styled by Ami Patel. With the film knocking right around the corner, let us have a look at all the times Alia slayed our red hearts with a touch of white Dove.

Dressed in Punit Balana, Alia Bhatt’s iconic romantic red rose tucked in the hair with a flying pallu and, red lips is surely one of our favourite looks from the lot that as dreamy as it is classy.

A White Statement

Dressed in Nobi Talai, it was on Berlinale day 2 when Bhatt opted for statement pants, coat and earrings, all white and gorgeous.

Moonlight Premiere

A costume Rimple & Harpreet Narula piece, Bhatt walked the red carpet premiere of Gangubai Kathaiwadi in Berlin with minimal makeup and, a statement earing which was a mix of diamonds, emeralds and sapphires.

Silvery Monochrome

A chic saree that serves as a medley between the new and the traditional, Alia’s Kshitij Jalori saree with jewellery from ABHILASHA and Curio Cottage makes this look one of our favourites.

Gangu & Gabbana

On day one in Berlin for the International Berlin Film Festival, Alia was dressed in a beautiful Dolce & Gabbana gown that made her look like a princess right out of a fairytale.

Alia Bhatt’s stylist Ami Patel has revealed the answer to everyone’s question of why the actress has picked white as the essential colour to represent her film. In an Instagram post, Patel wrote: “They say the colour white is special because it has all the colours of the rainbow in it. In Gangubai Kathiawadi I saw the entire spectrum of human emotions from celebration, gratitude, giving, sharing and every shade of love possible. Take a bow @aliaabhatt for this spectacular performance.”

Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios), the film is all set to release theatrically on 25th February 2022.
