Gal Gadot to Turn Evil for Disney’s Snow White Film?

Gal Gadot seems to be switching sides from DC to Disney and taking on a part of the antagonist this time. The Wonder Woman actor who we have seen in films like the Fast & Furious franchise and scheduled to see in Netflix’s new release Red Notice has essentially always played the role of the female lead in a positive light. Thus, the news of Gadot being offered the role of the antagonist in Disney’s upcoming Snow White is a surprise and might just give her acting career the depth it needs.

Disney’s first animated feature is Snow White, released in 1937 which gave Disney the reputation it holds today. Recent reports show that the big label is all set to revive their first animated princess but, in a live-action form. Rachel Zegler from the West Side Story film was cast back in June as the Princess. However, the speculation for who would be the evil queen has been in the air for quite some time now.

Turns out Wonder Woman Gal Gadot is in the final negotiation stages to portray the Evil Queen in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the timeless fairytale ‘Snow White.’ A source close to the project confirmed the news to Variety. As Gadot is famous for her heroic work in the DC franchise, this role will guarantee the actor to show a more evil side on the screen.

This untitled adaptation is going to be directed by Marc Webb, best known for projects like Andrew Garfield’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ and ‘500 Days of Summer.’ Marc Platt is going to serve as the producer along with the songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who is going to write the music for this new film. The production for this film is expected to begin in 2022.
