Furies Season 1 Ending Explained

Who Killed Driss?

After narrowly escaping the Olympus attack, Driss devises a daring plan to incite a war among the Olympus godfathers by orchestrating another heist for their wealth. Venturing into the heart of their domain, he seizes their riches and secrets, driven by a desire to harness their technology to locate his long-lost wife, Kahina, who betrayed him years ago. However, his intentions are thwarted when Lyna and Selma pursue him relentlessly. Amidst a tumult of violence and psychological warfare, Driss halts the Olympus train, prompting Lyna to confront her fleeing father. In a tragic twist, she inadvertently inflicts a fatal wound upon him.

Later, Selma discovers Driss on a familiar park bench from his childhood. Aware that decisive action is required regarding her brother’s fate, she grapples with the choice between mercy and justice. Driss, already mortally wounded from his earlier confrontation, relinquishes control over his destiny. In a poignant gesture to spare Lyna the burden of patricide, he implores Selma to end his life. Resolving their longstanding feud, Selma fulfils his request, thereby safeguarding Olympus and freeing Lyna from the spectre of her father’s demise.

What Happens to Lyna?

After Driss’s death, Lyna felt as though everything had come crashing down around her. Despite this, the revelation of her real mother’s survival spurred her into action. Determined to find her, she confided in Selma, who expressed concern about Lyna embarking on this journey alone, especially with the looming threat from the Godfathers. However, Lyna revealed that Selma’s diminished influence with the Godfathers could still be leveraged to alter their intentions. While Selma believed their story was at its end, Lyna insisted that they confront the situation head-on rather than flee.

Before facing the Godfathers, Selma urged Lyna to reconcile with those she loved. Lyna followed her advice, visiting her mother in the hospital, where she lay recovering from the attack, and bidding farewell to Elie. With these emotional farewells behind them, Selma and Lyna set out to meet with the Olympus, hoping to sway the Godfathers’ decisions and secure their future.

Who Killed the Olympus?

While Selma and Lyna are preoccupied with thwarting Driss, another formidable threat looms over Olympus. Upon the Furies’ return with their grim report, they make a chilling discovery: every single Godfather has been ruthlessly slain. This revelation is staggering, signalling the emergence of a new player in the deadly game. With Driss seemingly out of the picture, the question remains: who could be behind this?

Turning to external aid to combat Driss, they enlist the services of Damocles, the overseer of an international organisation comprised of elite assassins tasked with pivotal missions, including the elimination of high-profile targets. Known for their unyielding terms, Damocles operates on their own terms, demanding recompense at their discretion, leaving no room for negotiation.

Selma’s discovery of Olympus’ alliance with Damocles prompts her to ponder the depths of their desperation. Her apprehensions are validated when she stumbles upon the aftermath: the entire Olympus, massacred by Damocles. It becomes evident that Damocles perceived Olympus’ plea for assistance as a weakness, seizing the opportunity to assert dominance by annihilating them and usurping their power. The full extent of Damocles’ authority remains obscured, yet their ominous presence portends dire consequences for all involved.
