Fishbowl Wives: Will the Japanese Erotic Show Have Season 2?

Netflix Show ‘Fishbowl Wives’ has been streaming since last week. The show is about 6 housewives from a society living with their husbands. These wives are unhappy in their marriages due to different reasons. Each of them walks the path of infidelity to find happiness and things they desire. There’s a lot of nudity, infidelity, and sex scenes in the Japanese show.

Fishbowl Wives on Netflix is based on ‘Kingyo Tsuma,’ a Manga series by Kurosawa R. The series is directed by Michiko Namiki and Aya Narakino. The star cast includes Ryoko Shinohara, Masanobu Ando, Takanori Iwata, Saori Seto, Shizuka Nakamura, Rich Ting, Wakana Matsumoto, Kyoko Hasegawa, and many others. There are 8 episodes of 40-45 minutes each.

At the end of the show, we saw that each woman found happiness the way they wanted. Finding happiness wasn’t an easy journey for anyone. But after they decided to choose themselves over others’ needs, things worked out for them. There is even a 2 years time jump. There’s also an open ending for the audience to decide what happens next.

Considering how the series ended for each of the six women, it is highly unlikely that Fishbowl Wives Season 2 will happen. The streaming platform or the makers have also not announced anything regarding the renewal of the Japanese erotic thriller. If the makers decide to show new couples and their issues, well, one can expect the return of the steamy thriller.

Meanwhile, Leisurebyte’s review of the show mentions, “As viewers, it is upon us if we want to judge these women in the show for their actions. Considering how a man is cheating on his wife or a man unwilling to sleep with his wife, the step of infidelity with a person who’s treating them better seems apt for these women. But is that the only way out? One can always walkout from an unhappy or abusive marriage. Do people prefer to keep pretending and go out and sleep with someone else to fulfill their needs?”
