Euphoria Season 2 Episode 4 Recap Contains Major Spoilers

In Euphoria Season 2 Episode 4, Jules goes down on Rue (oral sex). Rue talks about how much she loves Jules and imagines herself as the lead character of every romantic movie – Titanic, Snow White, Brokeback Mountain and others. She is too high to feel anything and fakes an orgasm. Jules figures it out and tells about it, Elliot. Elliot and Jules start making out. Later, Rue also hangs out at Elliot’s place. Jules dares Rue to kiss Elliot for 10 seconds, which Rue does. Jules starts feeling jealous. To make Rue jealous, she tells Elliot to lick her stomach. But Rue is too high to give any reaction.

Later, the trio head out in Elliot’s car. Elliot and Jules steal some beer from a shop. Rue starts drinking alcohol which shocks everyone. When Jules tells Rue to stop drinking, Rue tells Elliot to stop the car. Rue tells her girlfriend that she can’t stand her anymore and wants to be away. Jules is heartbroken to hear this. Elliot and Jules are together in his house, where he tells Jules about Rue not being sober. He confesses to doing drugs with Rue. Jules is upset to hear everything. At the end of the episode, a naked Jules is sitting in the bed, which looks like Elliot’s house.

There’s enough drama from Cassie, Nate and Maddy in Euphoria Season 2 Episode 4. Maddy tells Nate that she used to love him and why he wants to get back together. Nate tells her that she’s smart and cruel. Cassie fights with Nate for hiding from her that he and Maddy are together. Nate yells at her for trying to be good and using his and Maddy’s breakup as an excuse to sleep with him. Their fight gets intense, and Cassie storms out of his house.

Euphoria Season 2 Episode 4 Still 1

On Maddy’s birthday night, Cassie is shattered to see Maddy and Nate together. Kat talks to Maddy about not feeling happy despite having a loving boyfriend. Maddy comforts her, and they dance together. Later, they all get in the hot tub, where Cassie asks Maddy if she and Nate are together. Maddy says “no” and Nate also instantly says “no” which angers Maddy. She starts yelling at Nate for saying “no” definitely as he’s the one who’s been wanting to get back together and promised her big things. Maddy tells Nate that he should’ve said they’re working things out.

An overdrunk Cassie is shocked to hear all the promises Nate made to Maddy and loses them. She ends up throwing up on everyone in the hot tub. “I’m sorry, Maddy. You’re my best friend,” says crying Cassie as her mother gets her out of the pool. It seems like Cassie’s mother and sister Lexi will soon get the hint that Cassie is in love (obsessed?) with Nate.

Today’s episode also features Cal Jacobs. He visits the bar where he hung out with Derek during his high school days. Cal gets drunks and starts wrestling with a man there. The manager throws Cal out of the bar and bans him from entering there again. A drunk Cal goes home and starts peeing in the hall. He tells his elder son about how he’d slept with many men and much more. The scene is worth watching instead of giving away everything. It’s both hilarious and uncomfortable.

Euphoria Season 2 Episode 4 Still 2

Along with the birthday scene, another intense highlight of today’s episode was Rue taking drugs. After getting out of Elliot’s car, Rue starts doing drugs from the bag. She gets super high and imagines hugging her father tightly. We finally see Rue express her grief about losing her dad. The entire scene is emotionally damaging, heartbreaking and scary. It leaves you worried about Rue getting overdosed.

Euphoria Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: Final Thoughts

Overall, today’s episode had it all – cheating, lies, grief, madness and confession. It was severe and uncomfortable. Things are not going to be the same between Jules and Rue anymore. After the hot tub scene, someone will soon figure out about Cassie and Nate. Kat might break up with Ethan soon. We didn’t get Fez and Lexi scene again!

The episode is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
