Dragon Age Absolution is a brand-new Netflix animated series based on BioWare’s fantasy video game, Dragon Age: Origins. Directed and written by Mairghread Scott, along with Mae Catt and Tim Sheridan, the series will follow a girl named Miriam who has been enslaved by the Tevinter Empire and must now free herself and become the hero she has always been destined to be.
The series is developed by BioWare and Korean studio Red Dog Culture House, which also worked on animated series The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and Centuarworld for Netflix. Mairghread Scott is the series producer, and Penka Kouneva gives the music. The series will contain six episodes which will all be released on the release date itself, with a runtime of 30 minutes each.

As revealed by Netflix, the cast of the series includes Kimberly Brooks as Miriam, Matthew Mercer as Fairbanks, Ashly Burch as Qwidion, Sumalee Montano as Hira, Phil LaMarr as Roland, Keston John as Lacklon, Josh Keaton as Rezaren, and Zehra Faza as Tassia.

As the video game suggests, the series will follow a similar plot line where the main objective will be to break free from the oppressors. Miriam, the series’ main character, will be seen overcoming her fears and facing her tragic past. In order to save herself and her friends, she has to embrace her destiny and become the hero that her community needs.
The trailer of the series shows us that a group of vigilantes is planning to steal an all-powerful artifact called the Circulum Infinitus. But the plan goes sideways due to unexpected instances. This incident angers the most powerful resident of the Tevinter, and the heroes scramble for the survival of their community.
The animation and CGI of the series look promising in the trailer. The intricate detailing, along with the story, expectations are high for this series. The background music also gives us a glimpse of how the episodes will roll out. The video game was very popular, and the audience is expecting the same from the series. Netflix described that the show would follow the Dragon Age lore and has also promised to give the audience special surprises, including new characters.
