Will There be Devil in Ohio Season 2?
In the end, we see Suzanne follows Mae to the Amontown compound, where the Dodd family and their followers prepare for a deadly ritual. While Suzanne is able to save Mae from getting burnt on the platform, instead, her mother Abigail willingly sacrifices herself to Lucifer. So that the chain is not broken.

When the cult members return and see that Abigail is sacrificing herself in the flames. Malachi Dodd turns the situation by telling them that this is a genuine sacrifice and they are saved. Detective Lopez also reaches there in time and rescues them to safety. Followed by taking a time-lapse we see the Mathises seek a fresh start.
They are still living in the apartment with their dad Peter, while Suzanne is in therapy and reveals that she might have projected herself onto Mae, which made her so attached. Presently, she is taking some time off to work on her issues and living with Mae, separately. Although she says that the separated families thing is temporary but the shocking revelation at the end might make it permanent.
The CCTV footage from the prom showed Mae bringing the white roses herself and then replacing them with the red carnations, she even drove to the cult willingly. This means it was all planned by Mae as she expected Suzzane to come after and save her. It reveals how Mae is much more complicated than she appears.
While the ending leaves enough trail that could be expanded further into another season, the possibility seems bleak since it is a limited series. Such series are meant to be one-time things only with no plans of taking them further. But looking at the response to the show, Netflix could renew it for another season, as it has been done before too.
The new season can explore how the dynamics between Suzanne and Mae will change after the revelation and whether Mae is much more sinister and hiding other secrets. Also, why and where has the cult moved now? Will Suzanne be able to escape from Mae’s trap and what is the meaning behind the evolving ritualistic sigil that she has created in the woods?
It hasn’t yet been officially renewed for season 2 and it’s currently difficult to say when another season could appear on Netflix. Viewers on the other hand need concrete answers but will they ever get their answers, or will the makers leave them hanging with an open ending?
Devil in Ohio is currently streaming on Netflix.
