Deaimon Episode 4 Review – Mystery Woman And The Fun Day At The Pool!

Deaimon Episode 4 starts with the chirping of cicada, indicating the arrival of sizzling, sticky summertime. Kanoko seems to have settled down in Kyoto from Tokyo. Without any (explicit) reasoning from her side to do so, she had already found a job and a place to live. Hands down to Nagomu’s mom for asking Kanoko’s help! After Nagomu had helped around with Mitsuru, and especially after the last episode, Itsuka has warmed up to Nagomu. With the cast gelling together so well, this episode is set to be wholesome.
We get to know another employee of the sweets shop Ryokushou, Saki. His family runs a Manju shop, and he is good at everything he approaches to do. He is of Nagomu’s age group but gets along well with Itsuka, prompting Nagomu for his help. A client falls head over heels in love with Saki’s lock screen, which is a picture of a woman. Saki seems to be eluding the true identity of this mystery woman. What could be the reason?
Instead of a full episode about a single person, it appears that we’re getting two stories this week. Kanoko visits Ryokushou with some pool tickets for Itsuka. The major miscommunication seems to continue between her and Nagomu, with each thinking they were dumped by the other. She invites Nagumo, Itsuka, and Saki to the pool. From funny antics to good communication, they seem to have a blast overall. Nagomu reminisces about his senpai, who taught him how to play the guitar and take care of it. Looks like Nagomu lost touch with him. Will we meet this senpai soon?

This episode of Deaimon was also very informative, just like its predecessors. With the history of sweets being discussed, we get to know the symbolic meaning and how the Japanese traditions of sweets change according to the seasons. Sweets are even used in Deaimon Episode 4 to cleverly convey a message without speaking a single dialogue. Their representations being vividly colourful and strikingly picturesque, adds a tone of smoothness in any scenes they are used.

With the majority of the multi-generational cast growing closer together, some still seem to bear a grudge. Whatever may be the reason for abandoning them, they seem to have not gotten over this fact and always seem to find the fault of the person who left them. I hope the future episodes present their viewpoints as well. Accompanied by a fun-filled pool part which provided many characters to bond even further, the animations of Deaimon Episode 4 were also pleasing to the eyes. There were a lot of hilarious scenes, and despite the upbeat tones, many questions were raised.

Prognosis
Overall, Deaimon Episode 4 was a fun-filled whole episode. Filled with moments that were funny, comforting, and emotionally intelligent, this episode delivered mystery and information without being too overburdening. Aesthetically pleasing, this slice-of-life anime teleported us to a summer day at the pool!
