Cringe Bollywood Movies to Watch Today: Jaani Dushman, Karzzzz and More!

Listen, we all have our guilty pleasures that are bad but still take our minds off things. Cringe Bollywood movies, honestly, are the thing when you’re in the mood for something where you wouldn’t need to think too much. They are so mind-numbingly bad that stress aside, you wouldn’t be able to think about anything for the duration of their runtime. Honestly, the amount of stress we’re all in at the moment, these cringe Bollywood movies are sometimes exactly what we need. So, here’s a list of our favourites:

Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani

You knew this list needed to have this movie, didn’t you? A cringe Bollywood movies list would be remiss without its top contender. That being said, Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani is truly ‘anokhi’. The movie has so much of cringiness that it’s hard to come up with one or two instances. Is it the fact that an entire group of people try to coerce Manish Koirala’s Divya to forgive two men who tried to rape her because she’s “too beautiful” or is it the Aaja Aaja song (apparently, it’s called Zindagi Main Tujhi Pe Lutaunga)?

It definitely, however, is Sonu Nigam coming out from behind a pillar with that background sound. Memorable and very cringy content – a film close to my heart for all the wrong reasons.

Do it. Join the dark side and watch Jaani Dushman on Voot or YouTube.

Karzzzz

The cringe Bollywood movies list would also be remiss without a Himesh Reshammiya movie. This 2008 Satish Kaushik movie is wild – Reshammiya’s character is named Monty, he has visions, he sports that hairdo and to top it off, his mind-boggling acting. It’s all a blurry, hypnosis-fueled mess that’s just too good to pass up.

Aap Kaa Surroor: The Moviee – The Real Luv Story

Reshammiya’s movies just get wilder as the list progresses, don’t they? Or actually, I am not sure which movie is cringier than the previous one. But this one, boy oh boy – Reshammiya’s character is called Himesh ‘HR’ Reshammiya and he gets framed for a murder in Germany (something that they repeat multiple times). That’s not what’s surprising, the revelation at the end is. One of the finest wild Bollywood contents that will be seared into your mind.

Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon

When you watch Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, you’ll understand that the title is sort of a little play on the names of the characters in this movie. It’s not smart or interesting, just like the plot of this movie. But hey, you get that AMAZING line that every Indian mom thinks: Oh, sex nahi kiya? “Toh problem kya hai?!” As if that’s the only thing that’s stopping women from getting married. I just can’t. Right there on the top of the cringe Bollywood movies list.

Watch it here.

Drona

This movie features ancestral warriors, mystic sources of cosmic energy and Abhishek Bachchan needing to take up his responsibility of guarding it. What could go wrong? Listen, I don’t have a problem with this movie, but Abhishek, why?! And it also has the very talented Kay Kay Menon. His hair stands up straight on his head like a shark – why!?

Watch the movie here. If you like cringe Bollywood movies like Drona, then watch Salman Khan’s Veer. Pretty much on the same lines.

Rudraksh

I have watched Rudraksh multiple times and every time I am more surprised than the previous time. Does the things that Bipasha Basu says in movie surprise her? What oil does Sanjay Dutt use on her to “relieve her stress”? Did Sunil Shetty practice his angry growl? What was that last dance/fight sequence – is it a mating ritual? Is Bipasha Basu’s character living a double life? Most importantly, can we know the stress relieving technique that Dutt uses because nothing seems to be working anymore?!

Watch Rudraksh here.

Good Boy, Bad Boy

Emraan Hashmi is a good actor. I really love his movies, well, most of them, and I love the songs that feature in them. I also feel like he is grossly underutilised and under-appreciated. However, Good Boy, Bad Boy is a shit-storm. The movie features a classic switcheroo situation and takes place in a school. What can go wrong? Well, if nothing else, then the movie can. Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi doing weird-ass stuff and trying to keep the mixup hidden is one of the cringe Bollywood movies that you need today.

Mela

Also, that fishnet ‘ganji’ tho

Mela featured a song which was 10 minutes long. That’s not a good look for a movie which is so bad. One of the last few movies of Mrs Funnybones aka Twinkle Khanna, this falls in the so-bad-it’s-good category. Kishen and Shankar’s friendship getting tested by Roopa is absolutely not blockbuster worthy and thus falls in the cringe Bollywood movies list – even Aamir Khan couldn’t save it.

Tum Mere Ho

Cringe Bollywood Movies to Watch Today: Jaani Dushman, Karzzzz and More! 6

Where do I start with this one? Forcing women into marriages, abducting them, creepy men ogling women and Madhuri Dixit running away with two pundits and the ceremonial fire – this probably consists of 5 – 10 minutes of content that this movie provides. A top contender in the cringy Bollywood movies list, Tum Mere Ho’s ‘Nag Panchami festival’ is either horrifying or cringy… or both. I don’t know what to think of it, other than it’s hella fun.

That’s it for our list of cringy Bollywood movies – movies that are so bad they’re good. Stress buster 101 – I guarantee you! Have a movie that you’d like to add to the list? Leave a comment below.
