Crime Scene Zero Review
Korean crime reality show Crime Scene Zero showcases a bunch of celebrities trying their best to solve a murder while being both the perpetrator and the detective. In each scenario, they all play a bunch of new people who are involved with the victim in one way or another as they try to uncover clues and get to the bottom of the mystery at hand. Each situation is told over two episodes, and each of these episodes is over an hour long. So clearly, one needs to have patience to see these episodes through as they uncover shocking facts and get to their conclusions.
The series is extremely light-hearted, with most of the clues being obvious and scattered around them at every corner. It’s not like the contestants have to really dig deep for any of it, so it takes away from the mystery of the situation. The contestants sometimes feel a bit too relaxed, and although it has its moments, these scenarios result in the show in general not being that thrilling.

Of course, one can say that this isn’t meant to be a thriller and is a comedy series. I agree with that thought, but the endless unearthing of information, as a result, becomes a bit silly and not entertaining. I think the comedy is quite amusing, although it’s not a laughing riot. I had a swell time as the contestants bickered with one another, unable to keep up with their appearances. Which can be amusing at times, and might even make you laugh, but it’s a really long show and can sometimes get on your nerves a bit.
However, one thing I will give this show is that it’s quite unique. It combines several genres and brings a lot of absurd conversations that will leave you cackling at times. The sets are immaculate, and although a bit childish at times, they can be extremely fun. I think the format can be a bit confusing, but also quite fun after you get the hang of it. I did find myself enjoying the episodes, although it did test my patience a bit as well.
Final Thoughts

Crime Scene Zero has its charms. Although it’s not the perfect format for me, I found it amusing more often than not. If you like strategy shows that hinge on absurdity and silliness, this one will be quite enjoyable. However, it’s important to adjust your expectations a bit as well.
