BTS’ RM, who has been a part of various chart-topping collaborations in the past few months, is coming up with a new track on R&B singer Colde’s upcoming album. Titled Love Part 2 and consisting of eight tracks in total, the album includes features from various artists like EXO’s Baekhyun and AKMU’s Lee Chanhyuk.
In an Instagram post by Colde, the singer revealed his tracklist with the first track being called Island (섬), followed by Don’t ever say love me (다시는 사랑한다 말하지 마) which features RM of BTS, the third track is I’m Still Here (난 아직도), Heartbreak Club (이별클럽) Featuring Lee Chanhyuk, After Everything (그럼에도 불구하고), When Dawn Comes Again (또 새벽이 오면) Featuring EXO’s Baekhyun, Settle (정리), and the last track is called Even Though You Said So Easily (넌 쉽게 말했지만).
Considering the titles of the songs, the album will be expressing the aftermath of a breakup, as a person is trying to get over their past relationship. Recently a music video teaser for the fourth track Heartbreak Club was released, which featured Lee Chanhyuk in the mv too. The 24 seconds long video showed the singer standing in a club, among a crowd but soon disappears. While a drunk Chanhyuk is seen being carried by some people.
Musically it sounds like a contemporary R&B track with some beats and might even feature some dancing. While the second track with RM can be speculated to be a mellow track with sentimental lyrics, or expressing the anguish of a broken heart. Something that was heard in their last collaboration for RM’s album Indigo, in the song Hectic.
The song dwelled on living a mundane life every day, going through the same cycle and wishing to be saved from it. Many people found the song comforting as they try to find their own happiness in their life. The album consisted of 10 tracks in total, including Wildflower with Jo You-jeen, Yun (with Erykah Badu), Still Life (with Anderson Paak), All Day (with Tablo), Forg_tful (with Kim Sawol), Closer (with Paul Blanco, Mahalia), Change pt.2, Lonely, and No.2 (with Park Ji-yoon).
Recently, RM also collaborated with SE SO NEON’s SoYoON for the track Smoke Sprite and even featured in the music video. While his popular collaboration with Balming Tiger for the track Sexy Nukim won Collaboration of the Year and Music Video of the Year at the 2023 Korean Hip-hop Awards.
