BTS’ J-Hope is setting new records for himself and as a Korean artist. After the successful “Permission To Dance Concert” in LA, here is another happy news for K-pop fans. The PTD concert in LA was the band’s first offline concert after the emergence of the COVID 19 pandemic and Twitter trends did take over showing us the excitement of ARMYs from all over the world.
Meanwhile, Jung Ho-seok aka J-Hope who was the first member of Bangtan Boys with a Hot 100 hit under his own name has continued to create his own solo record. This time the singer has shinned on the music streaming platform, Spotify creating one historic record.
On December 3, J-Hope recorded over 8 million followers on Spotify which makes him the first Korean solo artist to ever do so. Around August 21, he had crossed 7 million followers on the platform. This meant that he gained an impressive number of 1 million followers in just a matter of 105 days! The artist is also on the No. 5 spot in the ranking of Korean artists with the most Spotify followers, followed by K-pop groups that include BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and EXO.

Additionally, the singer also has a record of eight solo tracks under his name on Spotify alongside his solos from his boy band’s albums. These include his first solo mixtape “Hope World,” as well as “Chicken Noodle Soup,” which is his collaborative track with Becky G (which has its individual record of debuting 81 on the US Billboard Hot 100, a first from the members of the Boy Band).
Presently, the boy band is a trending name in the music world as it has been awarded Variety’s Record of the Year (for the song ‘Butter’) and has internationally ranked at No.1 on Billboard’s list of top artists.
Congratulations to BTS and J-Hope on creating such massive records!
