BTS Gets 7 Nominations at MAMA 2021, Army Celebrates on Twitter

BTS’ glory is never-ending as the band continues to reach new heights. This time the septet has successfully gathered a hefty set of nominations at this year’s MAMA. The Mnet Asian Music Awards aka., MAMA is organized by CJ E&M and broadcast through its music channel Mnet. The ceremony will be held at CJ ENM Contents World in Paju, South Korea and the theme for this year’s ceremony is called “Make Some Noise”- a theme that looks like the septet have already mastered.

This year at the MAMA, there are certain changes implemented to select winners in various categories. The Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year, three of the four grand prizes, will be selected through a jury panel dominated by experts related to K-pop. The evaluation will take place with a focus on the quality of work and artistry based on digital and album sales. Whereas the Worldwide Icon of the Year and the Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10, will be chosen entirely based on votes. These changes are to ensure a fair evaluation and win at the award show.

With all the changes incorporated, the boy band has still managed to get nominated seven times! The band has been nominated for: Best Male Group, Best Collaboration – ‘My Universe’, Best Dance Performance Male Group – BTS ‘Butter’, ARTIST OF THE YEAR Daesang, Worldwide Fan’s Choice Top 10, Song of the Year ‘Butter’, Song of the year ‘My Universe’.
