BTS is on Variety’s list for the win! On November 19, Variety has announced its 2021 list of honorees for the annual Hitmakers celebration. The recipients of the awards are going to be honoured on December 4, 2021, at an invitation-only brunch which is called the Variety’s Hitmakers Brunch Event.
This event will be presented by Peacock and the streamer’s Emmy-nominated comedy series “Girls5eva”. The cast and creator of the series will host the event with videos that are ordered specifically for it. Amazon Music is going to host the red carpet pre-show and awards presentation with Variety for this event.
The list of winners curated keeps the boy band at a very special place by offering it the award for “Record of the Year”. BTS’ ‘Butter’ is the track picked by Variety’s editorial team for the honour. The group has also prepared a special video for the celebratory brunch, reports Soompi.

BTS’ “Butter” – Record of the Year: The song “Butter” blasted out to the world in May, becoming a record-smashing single for BTS. The writers and producers, including multi-hyphenate creatives/executives Jenna Andrews and Ron Perry, the K-Pop group’s own RM, Stephen Kirk, Alex Bilowitz and Rob Grimaldi, crafted the perfect hit that just won’t quit. BTS prepared a special video for the Variety Record of the Year honour.
The event is going to be a star-studded one. Lana Del Rey wins the Decade Award. Wendy Goldstein takes home the A&R Award. On the other hand, we have Lil Na X for the Innovator of the Year. Variety’s Hitmakers celebration will also have artists including Olivia Rodrigo, Jack Harlow, Normani and many more.
