BTS and ITZY Create Groundbreaking Records At Billboard Charts

BTS and ITZY with their recent release have won hearts all over again. As of recent, BTS had released a joint single with The Fix You band Coldplay called ‘My Universe’ whose fans, adoringly called ColdTan are still dancing to it at every instance. Meanwhile, ITZY who had just released its full-length album “CRAZY IN LOVE” is being very well received by the audience.

The proof of how well these two Korean bands have been doing with their music recent got much recognition at this month’s Billboard charts: one broke all new records and set their individual records straight, whereas one created a personal record that is noteworthy.

‘My Universe’ debuted at No.1 on Billboard Hot 100!

Billboard revealed the charts dated October 9, 2021, showing how ‘My Universe’ comes in at the top with 11.5 million streams in the United States, 5.5 million radio airplay audience impressions, and over 127,000 download and physical singles combined.

‘My Universe’ is the sixth song by the boy band to top the Hot 100, following ‘Dynamite’, ‘Savage Love (Laxed- Siren Beat)’ with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, ‘Life Goes On’, ‘Butter’ and ‘Permission to Dance’. They have become the second-fastest band to achieve six No. 1 rankings within one year and one month. The first is The Beatles’ record which is for one year and two weeks (1964-1966).

‘My Universe is also the band’s fifth to debut in first place on the Hot 100, making this k-pop boy band with most songs that debut at No.1. Meanwhile, ‘My Universe’ is also the first Hot 100’s No.1 song with two groups as leading artists. The song is also at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.

ITZY’s ‘CRAZY IN LOVE’ debuts at No.11 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums charts!

Through Twitter, we come to know the new album’s ranking and also how it is weekly ranked as the most popular song in the United States. This is personally a growth record for the girl band girl as their first entrance into the Billboard 200 which happened less than five months ago with ‘GUESS WHO’ debuted only at No. 148 on the chart. This significant rise is really remarkable for the band.

Meanwhile, ‘CRAZY IN LOVE’ has also ranked at No. 1 of Billboard’s top-selling albums for the week.
