The Lost In Translation actor Bill Murray is supposed to star in the third instalment of Marvel’s Ant-Man franchise. The actor who we have recently witnessed in the latest Wed Anderson movie, The French Dispatch is rumoured to star in a secret role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. His name started to circle in the air when a casting call was made and a photo double was sought for a project codenamed “Dust Bunny” to keep the actor’s involvement in the project under wraps. However, these speculations could not have reached solid ground until Murray himself confirmed his involvement in the upcoming Marvel title.
Bill Murray on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
During the Jimmy Kimmel Live show, Bill Murray laid out his cards when he was asked about his undisclosed role at the Marvel movie, “Well, I’m not supposed to say. They’re making a movie. Paul Rudd plays Ant-Man, and Evangeline Lilly plays The Wasp, and Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer, they’re all in the movie. But I’m not at liberty to talk about it.”
Apart from this instance, director Peyton Reed shared a post on Twitter hinting how Bill Murray is involved in the project and his undying love for the legendary actor, who had previously played the Human Torch for the Fantastic Four Radio Show back in 1975.
During the interview with a German magazine called Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Murray explained how he had recently made a Marvel movie but would probably not tell us about it. Murray’s involvement is rather a surprise given he has mentioned how he is “not interested in these huge comic book adaptations” but, only decided to be a part of this project because the director was humble and ideal.
Irrespective of disclosing his presence in the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quatumania, Bill Murray has not gone on to explicitly discuss what role he plays in the movie. Meanwhile, as for newcomers we already know that Jonathan Majors from Loki is joining the cast this year as the time-travelling Kang the Conqueror.
